christian living: We have lost our innocence. - 07/20/11 11:43 AM
This is so true.  WE have in many ways become a hardened people.  Thank Goodness for children.  they talk to anyone and don't see the disability...
A lady sitting in the Dr.'s office saw a woman wheel an elderly gentleman into the waiting room.  she parked him and went to register.  She was sitting sorta close to the gentleman and thought maybe she should make some small talk.
Before she could, a little boy slip off if his mother's lap and walked up to the elderly man...
He then said..."I understand how you feel...My mom makes me ride in a stroller … (5 comments)

christian living: We had a great run...an end of an ERA! - 05/13/11 01:44 AM
This is the last group picture of the Chritian School that my Grand Daughter goes to.  Not because she is moving on, but because the school is closing.
The economy has caused a huge drop in enrollment and the school is no longer viable.
It truly is a sad day.  It is nice to see the values that were instilled in our children and allowed to be instilled.  It was nice to see that GOD was not a bad word to be spread around.
We are sad to see the school go, but are so grateful for the run she … (7 comments)

christian living: My Greatest Emotional Christmas gift ever! - 01/10/10 01:21 PM
This weekend, we celebrated our last Christmas group of the year.   My Stepson and his family were here over the weekend.  We all exchanged gifts and when I opened my gift from him...I was near Speechless.  I was given my first personal Bible.
We have plenty of Bibles in our home, but not one I would call 'my own'.  I was looking at buying one after Christmas as I had told my wife.  But, I was surprised instead.

There are some deep personal reasons for my emotion that I won't bore anyone with.  But, having my Step-son playing a major … (5 comments)

christian living: Another Christmas program with even more meaning.... - 12/20/09 10:48 AM
My Granddaughter had her Sunday School Christmas program today.  This small group of kids did a remarkable job.  This was also a highlight for her as she received her first Bible during this time also.
Today was very memorable as she was waiting with high anticipation for her Bible.  One that she could call her own.
Sometimes it doesn't take much to make one's heart fill with joy!

christian living: School Christmas programs...what a delight!!! - 12/19/09 11:29 AM
Last night we attended a School Christmas program where my grand daughter goes to school.  These are always fun, but even more so when you go for several years in a row and see all the kids change.

There are times when these programs are set at a time that is not real convenient and you may think that they are not all that important.
But, Look at the faces of the kids and tell them that this is not important.  I just DARE you!

christian living: Anonymous Santa in North Branch...For the Seniors! - 12/04/09 07:43 AM
My wife and I did our annual distributing of the Anonymous Santa gifts for the Seniors.  These go to many of the shut ins who have no one to visit them for the Holidays.
We delivered 15 boxes today and the smiles we got were priceless.
Most of the Begging goes on for the kids.  Very understandable, but, this is another part of society that gets forgotten all to often.  This program is service double the number of seniors this year as last.
This very nice center piece fit really nice in the apartments of most of these elderly … (9 comments)

christian living: Priorities...Who sets yours... - 10/25/09 09:55 AM
I like to think that "I" am in charge of my life.  But truth be told...I am not. I try to set my agenda, but, it is hardly centered around me.
I Feel "My" agenda for Priorities goes as such..."GOD" is first and foremost, and then it is my wife and then family.  Then business should come after that, but not always.  And to top that off, my priorities are really set by others whether I want them to or not.
Aging Parents...we work around their Dr.'s  appt's. delaying our own 'priorities.
Kids and Grandkids...They seam to sneak into the picture … (6 comments)

christian living: Take the road less traveled! - 04/29/09 11:53 AM
While on Vacation we were driving around looking a the local country side.  I always try to find areas of little travel.  While driving I yelled, "Hang ON!", and I made a fast left turn onto a semi paved road.  We rounded seveal curves hoping that we wouldn't meet another car on this one horse road.  Then I seen the stream...

Across the road from it was the best find...

A church in the same condition it was when the people of these Branson Hills built and worshiped here.

It was still draped with the Easter colors.   It … (13 comments)

christian living: Go Fish! - 12/13/08 12:19 PM
What a wonderful concert this was.  A few middle aged men singing some youthful Christian songs.  Today, they sang the old favorite Christmas songs as they manuvered their way throught the Christmas Story.  They guys are a favorite of the young crowd...(6-16)  and even of the older generation as it looked.
The concert was at the Cambridge High School Performing arts center.  If you ever get the chance to see...
GO FISH!  They are highly recomended!
