In simple terms...Lutifisk (If you don't know what it is...) is a Cod Fish that is dried with Lye and then re hydrated and cooked in boiling water. It is served with a cream sauce and or butter. (I like the latter) Now, most people believe that the smell is enough to scare away any criminal, but it is really much worse than that. I have never tried to cook it. KIDS! Yes, it it the kids that make the season. The smiles and laughter on Christmas eve running all through the next day and more. But my favorite are the Christmas programs. The Sunday school put on their rendition of the Christmas story filled with song.
I love how some of the kid's voices range about the others, in tune or not. They are proud to bring the story to us and we are proud to hear it yet again!

My Granddaughter had her Sunday School Christmas program today. This small group of kids did a remarkable job. This was also a highlight for her as she received her first Bible during this time also. Today was very memorable as she was waiting with high anticipation for her Bible. One that she could call her own. Sometimes it doesn't take much to make one's heart fill with joy! … (5 comments)

Last night we attended a School Christmas program where my grand daughter goes to school. These are always fun, but even more so when you go for several years in a row and see all the kids change.
There are times when these programs are set at a time that is not real convenient and you may think that they are not all that important. But, Look at the faces of the kids and tell them that this is not important. I just DARE you! … (7 comments)
church doings: Spring Lake Church's Kropp Kakor supper...tonight!

So what is a kropp kakor? It is basically a potatoe dumpling. It is the size of a baseball (nicknamed cannon ball) Has meat inside of it usually, and is a pain in the but to make. Claimed as a scandenavian dish, others also claim it. I have seen the Polish do something simalar, but a lot smaller. This is the main fundraiser for the ladies in our church, but all the guys also chip in and help. It is one of the great get togethers for our little Spring Lake Church. Well it's that joyous time of year when our little band of singer grace the sanctuary of our church. NO, no tryouts, just come and sing. We are small enought o welcome all comers. We stand 14 Strong! Are we the best around...no, but let's just say we ar the Best in our little arena. Why no tryouts...well we need a Bass singer...that's me and if they had me try out, I would be out after 3-4 notes. but, we have enough to drown out my off key resonation just enough, but let the frog through.
