Buffalo Grove's Willow Stream pool is now open and is better than ever was written by Mara Somlo, Senior at Stevenson High School and Judy Greenberg, Buffalo Grove Realtor.
Although having a delayed openning due to a mechanical problem, the Buffalo Grove Park District opened the new and improved Willow Stream Pool at the beginning of June. The Buffalo Grove Park District is now offering its first Lacrosse team to play in the Spring season. The Buffalo Grove team consists of 20 players (ages 11-13), and practices two times a week. This new team is a mixture of experienced players and new players, and is sponsored by Lacrosse America. Lacrosse's season differs from that of Football and Hockey, allowing kids to have fun and get in shape year long. The Buffalo Grove Buddy Ball Baseball, which started in 1994, allows children with special needs to play baseball by pairing them up with able-bodied buddies. I saw the Buffalo Grove Park Distict performance of West Side Story last night and it was simply spectacular! My niece Annie played the character Anita and I thought she did an awesome job.
Don't miss this wonderful performance! The actresses and actors ranging from 6th graders to seniors in High School were all just magnificent. As I look outside at my backyard covered with snow, approximately 14 inches, I am starting to get the itch to get out on the golf course and hit my golf clubs. Unfortunately, I'm looking at least two months plus until I can get onto a golf course here in the Chicago area. (First the snow needs to melt)
