Residents of Lake County in the Chicago Northwest Suburbs will be able to vote for the first time on April 7th on whether they think the proposed extension of Route 53 in the county is a good idea.
The County has placed an advisory referendum on the ballot which will state, "shall the State of Illinois construct the extension of Illinois Route 53 from Lake Cook Road northerly to Illinois Route 120"
The supporters in Lake County say the extension of 53 will provide a route for motorists in the Northwest Lake County and reduce heavily traffic areas. On the negative side, the critics … (5 comments)

Besides Real Estate, I can honestly say that golf is my passion. When you work 12 hours a day like I do, with the phone constantly ringing, it's necessary to give yourself time for a hobby or an outlet. Outlet malls are good... but for me golf is my favorite kind of outlet.
Golf is the time that I'm able to spend time as close to nature as possible. I can experience lush green grass, beautiful flowers, trees, and wildlife. A new minor league baseball team is expected to open in Zion, Illinois( located in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago in the summer of 2010. According to reliable sources,Kevin Costner is one of the investors of the stadium project. I guess he feels that if he builds it... Lake County will come.
Lake County is presently the only major area collar county that doesn't have a sports team. This new Lake County stadium which will have 5000 reserved seats as well as a banquet facility is expected to cost approximately 15 million dollars to build.
