As you might have noticed, or maybe not...I have taken approximately 10 days off from writing any real estate posts. Hopefully I can share my enthusiasm regarding the Chicago Northwest Suburbs with a renewed source of passion for where I live, work and why I'm passionate for what I do.

Residents of Lake County in the Chicago Northwest Suburbs will be able to vote for the first time on April 7th on whether they think the proposed extension of Route 53 in the county is a good idea.
The County has placed an advisory referendum on the ballot which will state, "shall the State of Illinois construct the extension of Illinois Route 53 from Lake Cook Road northerly to Illinois Route 120"
The supporters in Lake County say the extension of 53 will provide a route for motorists in the Northwest Lake County and reduce heavily traffic areas. On the negative side, the critics … (5 comments)

There are currently 128 resale and new homes in Long Grove, Illinois. The average listing price for homes for sale in Long Grove IL was $1,339,275 for the week ending Feb 25. 57 of the homes are listed for over $1000,000 and the highest priced home is $3,200,000. Compared to the same period one year ago, the median home sale priced decreased 15.2%.

A few of my clients have tried to sell their homes this year, but unfortunately, they were not able to sell their home at their desired price. If it was financial feasible for them to own 2 homes, I have advised these clients to lease their home in these tough times, and wait for the housing market to turn around. I have leased certain client's townhomes from $1850 to $2600 and luxury homes from $3000 to $5000 a month. Two of my clients have received a corporate 3 year lease and can't be happier.

One of my newly married clients asked me yesterday if he would qualify for the $8000 tax credit. The caveat is that his wife had previously owned a home before they were married. The answer is No....

Are you still planning to move this summer to the Chicago Northwest Suburbs,including Buffalo Grove, Vernon Hills, Long Grove or Lincolnshire. Whether you live close by or across the country, its time to stop procrastinating! Time is running out if you want to settle your kids in their new schools for the 2008/2009 year. In most districts in the area, School starts sooner than you think... the third week of August.

Great schools and affordability are the most common reasons to move the Chicago Northwest Suburbs.
But now you ask me is there anywhere exciting to go for the day with your family in the Winter? Anything but the usual movie, or bowling?What about Skiing? Whether you have 3 year olds or 15 year olds, I recommend Wilmot Ski Resort in Wisconsin, right across the Illinois border. Wilmot Mountain is only a short 45 minute from the Chicago Northwest Suburbs. In order to get there, you would take Gilmer Road to Route 12, and then go North to Wilmot Road.
