Blizzard 2011 - Long Grove and Buffalo Grove residents know how to have fun in the snow!    Stevenson High School and all the surrounding Buffalo Grove and Long Grove schools have closed for two consecutive days.   
Almost everything was closed during the Blizzard of 2011 on February 2nd- including banks, schools,and business.  Residents of many Chicago Suburbs were advised to stay off the roads and leave the open for emergency vehicles.  With no vehicles on the streets, these High School boys from Long Grove took advantage of the plowed streets and slid down the roads tied to autos driven by their fathers.

Long Grove has many very fun things to do In April...  Bring the Family!
When I was younger, I grew up in Skokie, and we used to pack our car and go for what we thought was a road trip to Long Grove. Although it was only  around a 15 mile drive it seemed like we were going to the country.   Actually we were since there were relatively few homes.    Taking that trip  to Long Grove was a special day shared by my entire family. 
Fast Forward, and I'm not going to tell you how many years....  Now that I live in Long Grove, I love to enjoy everything this historical … (3 comments)

Take I-290 West to I-294 North to I-90 West, or take I-90/94 and stay on I-90 to 53 North. Go to the end of 53 and take the west exit, which will put you on Lake-Cook Road. Go to the traffic light (Rte 53/Hicks Road) and turn right. Go to the second light and turn left onto Old McHenry Road and into the village. The Municipal Archer parking lot will be on your right.
