Some things just don't make sense at all. It used to be that it just did not make sense to pay off your mortgage when money was so cheap, and you could write off the interest. It does not really matter how unwise it may be, but somehow, having that mortgage payed off sure feels good. I'm all for it.
Another thing we are told not to do is have your lender keep an escrow account for you, collecting each month in addition to interest and principal payments, to pay for taxes and insurance. Really, why give it to them, when … (1 comments)

Those aren't my words. I just came across them in one of my binder pages--something I cut out a while back, and which struck a cord with me.
It's about just getting things done. Doing it. Don't get me wrong. I really think that planning, prioritizing, setting goals, writing goals, figuring out what we want to accomplish...are all good. Are the sellers flexible on their price? Stated in that manner by other agents, I cringe. I know what's coming. Everyone knows that there is always flexibility in a price. So to ask that question usually means that buyers are thinking really really low. My response, it depends on what you mean by flexible. But in any event, write the offer. Our job is to bring buyers and sellers together on their price. If it means coming in at hugely less than asking price, that is the buyer's prerogative. Thanks for considering this home.

We all know what a great buyers' market this is. We know, but somehow a lot of buyers still don't get it. Buyers are on the fence. Uncertain. Waiting for the other shoe to drop.
