 A Hand Up Not A Hand Out

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (HFH GLA) builds simple, decent, sustainable and affordable homes in partnership with low-income families or individuals.  We offer a hand up, not a hand out, by providing a once in a lifetime opportunity to build a long-term investment for your future.

HFH GLA is currently accepting applications for homes in Long Beach, Lynwood and South Gate.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must demonstrate need.  Home-buyers must be low-income, earning between 30-80% of area median income for Los Angeles County.  View Eligibility Income Chart below.
• Must have good credit (no recent bankruptcies, liens or judgments).
• Must be willing to partner with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles by: 1) Completing Sweat Equity Hours, 2) Complete an 8-hour HUD-certified pre-purchase homebuyer education workshop and an 8-hour Habitat Education Program, as well as additional courses through HFH GLA's comprehensive home-ownership education program.
• Must be a citizen or permanent legal resident of the United States.
