s: It's a Good Thing when you see construction going on... - 09/25/08 09:13 PM
In New Home communities I mean. Our office markets several Builders new home communities and homes just haven't been poping up like in previous months. But lately I have seen it in our communities and several others around the area, which all have new construction homes going up and near completion and ready to purchase. This is definitely a GOOD THING!!! Hope to be selling a few of these in the near future.
Things are looking up...

s: Are there cob-webs forming around your office desk??? - 09/16/08 03:28 PM
LET'S HOPE NOT!!! If your in Real Estate it seems that this could happen very easily. Especially the agents that happen to be sitting on Duty Call or at the New Home Communities representing that local Builder. The phones are not ringing like they once were. The prospective Buyers are not shopping for their favorite floorplan. Not even looking for design ideas!!!  Maybe once the cooler weather sets in folks will get out a little more and at least be curious. I realize that a lot of this pre-shopping is being done online now. And that's okay, but I would still like to hear that phone ring or see a smiling face walk through that door.  LET'S NOT … (3 comments)

s: It's a sinking feeling when your on "E." - 09/14/08 11:01 PM
I mean when your getting off work at 5:30 PM Friday evening and you need to fill your gas tank up for the weekend's work, (sure we've heard the news and weather about hurricane Ike coming ashore) and you drive to your local gas station and it's pump handles are covered. (but the first clue was there was only one car driving away, like myself, when normally it is packed!!) Then I look across the street to the small station where hardly anyone frequents and there are cars lined out in the street in both directions! "Nope, I'm not gonna do that!!!!" … (5 comments)

s: Why do they wait till the last minute... - 09/08/08 09:33 PM
I'm speaking of a certain couple in particular. These folks originally came to me in the middle of June 08. They explained their lease would be up the 1st of August. So we had about six weeks for a search. Good enough....but just as I get them to the Mortgage office for approval they informed me they had spoke to another Lender and had some type of affiliation with a Realtor agent tied with the Lender. Well, not being pushy and listening to the wife, she wanted to "give this person a chance" all the while the husband had faith in me and wanted … (14 comments)

s: Looks like many will be watching the "WEATHER CHANNEL" this Holiday weekend - 08/29/08 10:09 PM
Well , here we go again!!! Hurricane season is upon us. Looks like Hurricane Gustav and Tropical Storm Hanna will be the hot topic this weekend and first of next week.
After "been there, done that" I know exactly how some folks are feeling..... watching the weather channel constantly. Stocking up on food items and medicines and preparing your home for the worst.  Although I didn't suffer the consequences of Hurrican Katrina, I did manage to survive Hurricane Charlie. And mind you I have nothing to whine about because I was in Central Florida. But heh, 90 MPH winds are nothing to shake a stick at. … (7 comments)

s: People are finding SOUTH CAROLINA a beautiful place to live.... - 08/28/08 03:57 PM
And to move to. It seems this is really what is keeping our economy in South Carolina and our Real Estate Market prosperous especially here in the upstate. As a matter of fact, I have 3 current Buyer clients that are all from out of state. I'm talking New York, Florida, and not too distant North Carolina. It appears that the weather, the scenery, (such as the mountains, lakes and the ocean not too far) and the lower than national average home prices are drawing people from all over. I think this is wonderful and there's still plenty of room.... and homes for many more. It … (1 comments)
