The Happy Naked Blogger. It doesn't take much to make this Naked Blogger happy... I'm a simple gal who delights in simple things. Today, one of those simple things arrived in the mail.
I'm all smiles on this rainy Friday the 13th and here's why... I received a yellow 'Happy Face' T-Shirt from the ActiveRain Staff. It was accompanied by a short but sweet message that read:

Beautiful Brains & Funky Finesse. It's Friday and I'm stunned how quickly this week went by. I'm sipping my cup of Joe, about ready to attend my last meeting of the week before I hop on a plane to LA for a big birthday bash. My thoughts are bouncing around like TIGGER to several great conversations I've had with some brilliant colleagues these past few days. I'm blessed to be surrounded by people who challenge me to be better.

Lumps of coal... Anyone? If you've ever played the white elephant gift game at a Christmas party, you know exactly what I'm talking about when I refer to lumps of coal. It's the gift that no one wants and everyone tries to get rid of.
I've had my share of lumps of coal... I was put up for adoption when I was born (fortunately my mother came and got me after 4 weeks... but I think I still have abandonment issues). Stand By Me. Last week was quite a doozy for me on so many levels, but mostly emotional. I was feeling a little out of sorts because of the seriousness of events at hand. At the end of one of my meetings, a friend sent me a text and said... 'I looked across the room at you today and thought, wow, she is doing such a good job.'
