I was just looking online at the Charlotte Observer and thought that this would be a useful tool in helping your buyers try and find out a little about different areas when they ask us those touchy questions about crime and neighborhoods. It is a great site to send them too if they have questions about addresses and so forth! It helped me!

This was a great article that I saw on Yahoo recently and thought you may like to read it! We are still a growing market and the predictions for 2008 are that we will grow even more! Good news here in the Carolinas!

Happy Thanksgiving from "THE TERRY TEAM". We hope that you have a wonderful holiday!

Employment increased by 457 jobs in Mecklenburg County during July and August. However, the

number of job seekers also increased. The combined effect of these two trends was an increase in the

average monthly unemployment rate from 4.4% for the second quarter to 4.9% in the first two months of

the third quarter. The solid job growth will help to build housing demand, while historically low mortgage

rates should continue to spur sales. This is what the 3rd quarter stats were from the latest issue for the Charlotte North Carolina market. It really looks like the 4th quarter will be very impressive. Hopefully these statistics continue to get better over the next few months!

The Terry Teamwould like to remind those to take a moment today to honor our Veterans! So instead of blogging about business and real estate... we would like to give thanks to the brave men and women fighting and who have fought for our country! We hope that you all have a blessed day!

Hello all! This is really for those of you who use showing services for your listings. I have a pretty easy question and was just wanting a little feedback. Is there an etiquette on cancelling appointments after the time slot has begun if there are special instructions for the homeowner (exp. homeowner needs to let dogs, out or homeowner works from home...) something that requires the homeowner to come home and/or leave their home?? I have seen this a few times where the homeowner has left work, gone home, staged for showing, taken dogs out...and 15 mins into the time the showing was to be held, they called and cancelled. This has happened on the same property about 3 times now and the homeowner is getting frustrated, anything I can say or do in this situation to ease their minds??

Hello fellow agents!! I recently made a career move that I was extremely nervous and scared to do in the beggining! Going from something pretty stable to commission only was nerve wrecking! I had my doubts about going into general brokerage as I had worked in New Construction for quite a while. You get some agents that really make it sound horrible and then those who absolutely love it. When searching for a firm that I wanted to hold my license under I really did a lot of research and asked a lot of questions. Some of the things that I found were that many people want to sell you on commission splits....what is 100% commission split mean to a new agent who doesnt know where to start and has NOTHING going? Just that....NOTHING! I looked at what kind of training or, what does the firm offer to their agents in the office? Again I found that many of them were NOTHING! On the other end there were firms that offered lower splits but you had to pay a fortune just to be there, and with not much help! So I was really intimidated by the industry until I spoke with the BIC at Keller Williams. What a relief!!!! Their was not one person at that office that did not offer help and support, and I was not even affiliated with them yet. Along with the commission split being extremely good seeing as though I was a little afraid of that in the beggining, I got all of the knowledge and training right there in the office. It wasnt a charge for you to go, they have refresher courses you sit in on, mastermind groups that take you in with open arms, and the list just goes on! I have never felt more confident and comfortable in a career decision that I have made than I do right now! I really finally feel free! Which brings me to the question...are you happy where you are?? I am only writing this to let you know that there are firms that really do care about YOU! Feel free to contact me and I will share with you the information that I have gathered, not just about Keller Williams! We will compare notes!

Just an FYI for those of you who may not have heard....the building in Union County can continue! Some of the first applications sent to the state for approval will be the projects the state denied in March, including right under one thousand homes, a Lowe's Home Improvement store and two medical offices. They are also building a Target right off of IndianTrail-Waxhaw. The move, triggered by an expansion of the Twelve Mile Creek sewer plant, allows the county to begin processing permit applications from developers in some of the county's fastest-growing areas. They have said that the permits are given to commercial developments in front of Residential. Maybe this expansion will help some of the re-sales that we have in Union County right now, in turn we will hopefully be really busy pretty soon! Have a great weekend!!
