As a professional marketer, I was always intrigued at how so many people believed that database marketing was all about mailing to the "right people at the right time".  It seemed to me that we were missing out on building our "right people" by using direct mail to build relationships. 

I understood that it took several touches to even get someones attention or to get them to even remember your name, by why does it have to be that way?  If we give them SOMETHING OF VALUE TO THEM wouldn't they remember us immediately. 

I am the founder of By Design Publishing (ByDesignPublishing.com) and created a line of products that are gifts of value and I believe that have had tremendous value for our clients.  Like any other marketing tool, our products won't solve all of your marketing needs but them have been very effective for our clients. 

I am planning to launch more products and companies in this area but I am trying to find out what service oriented professionals find valuable in their marketing products and strategies.  What areas are still not being met by the over-abundance of marketing products that are thrown at you every day.

So much marketing is what I call "me, me, me marketing" because its all about the sender and most recipients just don't care. Gift of Value marketing is about giving the recipient that is important to them and therefore giving you the opportunity to buld a relationship with them. Then, when they need you and your services, you will get the call.
