If you are in the Morris County, Kansas area,  I would highly recommend a visit to the Hays House Restaurant and Tavern in Council Grove.  The Hays House Restaurant and Tavern is the oldest continuously operated restaurant West of the Mississippi.  Just walking in you will immediately realize the rich history with the abundance of artifacts and relics of the old west.  The friendly service is unsurpassed, although that is the nature of the Council Grove Community and perhaps small town Kansas in total.  I would recommend the fried chicken dinner and catfish fillet.  The bacon wrapped fillet mignon is also one … (0 comments)

Aggieville is a retail district of roughly six square blocks consisting of college-age oriented bars, restaurants (including the world's oldest continuously-operated Pizza Hut), and shops in Manhattan, Kansas.  Primarily known for it's bars(especially Last Chance Saloon) the retail shops in the district get little notoriety yet are some of the best homegrown businesses the Midwest has to offer.
