home staging: Do We Need Yet Another Group??? - 09/02/08 10:16 AM
Inspired by a recent post of mine: Help! Where Should I Post Promotions in Active Rain...Anyone Know? I have seen stagers et all sharing bargains, sales, finds, web sites, and I have seen Realtors show off their beautiful listings, and I have read time and time again about who is the best this and that. What do I do when my business is international. My business is on the web, I run discounts now and then because I know many people are on the fence and it gives them the push they need. I like your suggestion and will consider a

home staging: High End Decor - A Home Stagers Nightmare! - 04/14/08 11:24 AM
High end sophistication is an acquired taste but once you have it, you just cannot deny the opulence and the complexity of the style...this room alone would run upwards of $30,000 or more to put together. Don't try this at home kids! Who could sleep in this room...is there a feng shui consultant in the house? I found this photo on the cover of the latest issue of Window Fashions magazine and it takes me back to a time when everyone wanted coordinating (matchipooh as we say in the biz) fabrics and papers! It is obvious that the window fashion industry

home staging: A Feng Shui Journal From A Decorator's Point of View; The First Miracle! - 07/21/07 08:06 PM
You are not going to believe this! It may take you a couple of minutes to read but it is really worth it...let me know what you think. You have been on this journey with me since the beginning. Let me start from the beginning. I started a FS journal about the The Love Stones, had a good laugh and decided to keep exploring with the Tale of Two Hearts. Then Carole Provenzale, our true resident Feng Shui Consultant of Long Island New York took pity on me and came to my rescue before I could do any real harm.

home staging: And as for the rest of us, we have moved on... - 06/13/07 09:14 PM
If it were up to me I would have passed right by all the infighting going on here because it literally means nothing to most of us. I am the oldest of 8 children and you guessed it...if it wasn't my fight, I had no interest in it. But if the fight blocked the TV and I was watching my show then I would have to put an end to the fight or ask that they take it somewhere else. I believe most of us would rather get a hot tip that can bring happy tears to our clients eye than

home staging: Feng Shui Journal from a Decorator's Point of View: The Tale of Two Hearts! - 06/04/07 07:14 PM
I was really thrown looking for the next step to take in my bedroom after the phenomenal success of my Feng Shui'ed "Love Stone's" Well...a couple of flirtations at best but still a sign of good times to come. The next logical step to me would be to move my bed (which I cannot and I will tell you that story if I ever find that part again) and then the issue of the master bath door opening is running in the back of my mind, or the color of the walls...surely there is more information as what to do for

home staging: Coming Out Of The Closet! - 02/24/07 02:13 PM
Today I have decided to put myself on the other side of the home staging fence and edit my own closet. Here is what I am going through... Pulling the easy stuff out that doesn't mean anything to me like old pajamas, Hawiian shirts that always need ironing but wear them anyway when I work in the garden, hand me downs from friends and family that I took so as not to hurt their feelings...and so on. Gifts that I never wore.I turn around and there is a big pile on my bedI look back to my closet and it is stuffed

home staging: The Newly Formulated "Detachment and Evaluation Phase" of Home Staging - 01/10/07 09:02 PM
Things are changing very fast at Stage It Forward thanks to the many talented and creative members involved in elevating the essence of it's Image. As a direct result of our discoveries sparked by Judy Kincaid's blog I am rewording what was once the "Decluttering Phase" of Staging a Property for sale. I have decided to call it the "Detachment and Evaluation Phase" because that is exactly what it is. I have about 75 pages I need to thumb through and rework so it will take a few days. Before I get started, I would like some input as to renaming any

home staging: My Favorite Home Staging Tip #2 How to get the California Look! - 01/04/07 07:57 PM
Here is a home staging technique that the sellers will love and want to keep. It is a knock out! Nothing cleans up a messy, busy, old, dated living room like fresh white slipcovers. They usually cost between $50 to $100. Sure beats the price of a sofa or chair and eliminates busy prints and dated furniture. Now if you want a designer look fast for your living room: Empty the living room completelyPaint your walls with rags leaving movement in a butter cream or light pecanInstall crown moldings and 5" baseboards and paint an off whitePurchase a $100 4x6 sisal

home staging: Why Should I Give It All Away? - 12/05/06 08:16 AM
Is it possible to give away so much knowledge that you are hurting yourself? It seems like it sometimes. I have a lot of experience and I share a lot of what I know to build a trust. I send out a monthly newsletter full of decorating tips and staging information absolutely free. Many people think I give away too much. If you visited my website, you would see that I share more information on how to stage a home than what many websites charge for. Why do I do that? Because I will always know more. I am the one doing
