The Trulia research team did a survey on the five most important reasons that buyers and sellers look for in a Realtor.

1. Honesty and credibility.  You need to prove to the client that you have their best interest at heart and that you are their best bet.

2. Area familiarity.  You cannot be geographically ignorant.  It is important that you are knowledgeable about the neighborhoods, schools, employment, real estate taxes, etc.

3. Good follow though.  Communication is essential.  We do this everyday.  This maybe their first experience.  Help them walk across the bridge of uncertainties.

4. Organization.  Being scatter brained and disorganized is not going to impress anybody.

5. Good listener.  We have two ears and one mouth for a reason.  Stop talking and listen to their concerns.
