The Virginia General Assembly agreed on a new transportation plan back in March of 2007 that will cost approximately $400 million dollars. This plan will be paid by an increase in taxes and fees that includes a dramatic increase in the grantors tax on real estate.

Everyone knows we are in the midst of a buyers market which gives them the position of strength in negotiations. With the prices in Prince William County in a down trend the buyers who are looking are most interested in the best price. I come across it all the time, when I am interviewing with a prospective seller and they tell me, "the last agent said we could get 30,000 more for our house". I will tell you what I tell them, please be careful some agents either do not know what they are doing or just want to get the listing. The first agent just does not have the skill needed, and the second is promising to get you more money then you will realize and will "beat you up" on lowering the price after you list. With sales and prices falling and the large number of short sales and foreclosures this has causeda lot of competition for business.
