The ocean shimmered as if a million diamonds were scattered upon its surface.

Grey Lady, oblivious to the chop that lay beneath, cut through the waves as she raced to her destination.

It was the beginning of a beautiful sun filled September weekend on Nantucket.

Fine dining, cobblestone streets, beautiful sandy beaches, New England charm, complete with five star world class accommodations at The White Elephant.

The Calm After The Storm - Post Irene - 09/01/11 03:03 PM
The only good thing about a hurricane is that it eventually passes. Here in The Pinehills, we were fortunate not to suffer any major consequences from Irene. She chose a path further to our west and we were spared most of the heavy rainfall and damaging winds.
There was very little damage in Winslowe's View and Rebecca's Landing, and we lost power for a day and a half. Thankfully, Irene was an inconvenience, not much more. Me personally, I have a few trees that need to be removed and this one is going to be a little tricky. Not sure how … (3 comments)
