Plymouth Homes and Gardens Spring Networking Tour - First Annual I was pleased to participate in the first annual Plymouth Homes and Gardens Spring Networking Tour the other day. It was a warm and humid morning, but it was easy to take riding in the open trolley.
There were approximately 20 local Realtor's® on tour and we managed to visit 17 homes! That is pretty amazing considering the size of the town of Plymouth. The Massachusetts Association of Realtors (MAR) has reported that sales for October 2009 are up 17.7% from October 2008. Statewide 3,828 single family homes sold this October vs. 3,252 in October 2008. It was also the largest single month gain since November 2004, and the largest increase of sales from September to October since 2002. Although these statistics might be a little closer than using national statistics, it is still not a clear indication of what might be happening in your town or neighborhood. Why wouldn't you consider buying a home during the winter months? Did you know that the majority of homebuyers slow down, and some even stop searching for a home during the winter? This always gives me pause, and generally leaves me with too much time on my hands. Is there trouble on the horizon for the multi-million dollar Hollywood East - Plymouth Rock Studios project? It was announced yesterday, that Plymouth Rock Studios has canceled their agreement for the big construction loan that would have allowed the studio to break ground in the next few months on their studio complex. It sounds like they are back to the drawing board and are exploring other alternatives.As reported in the Patriot Ledger, "the studio is optimistic that they will be able to obtain more favorable financing terms now that the economy has shown signs of improvement." Single Family home sales have declined over the past three quarters of 2009 in Plymouth when compared to the same time period for 2008. First quarter started off with 655 listings, 93 sales and an inventory supply of 21.1 months. Second quarter had an increase in inventory (+30) along with a slight increase in sales (+24) thus reducing the months supply to 17.5.Third quarter saw an increase in inventory (+88) plus an increase in sales (+25) putting the months supply to approximately 16.3.

Lights - Camera - ACTION! If you haven't heard, you might want to pay close attention to what is going on in Plymouth MA. Hollywood is coming to town. Plymouth Rock Studios has entered into an agreement to purchase the Waverly Oaks Golf Course and build their $400+ million studio complex on this beautiful piece of real estate consisting of 240 acres.
