When the Tide goes out, perhaps the smell will Wake up America - 03/30/09 02:51 PM
I have remained somewhat silent on events since January 20.  The rate with which President Obama and the Congressional leadership have changed the face of America has been breath-taking and frightening.  They have, in my view, by-passed all the checks and balances of our system and altered the structure of our government with a pace that, while impressive, is dangerous to the future of the Republic.
The response to the economic "crisis" has been a rush to enact a dream list of every liberal program that has been on the shelf for a couple of generations.  Rather than stimulate the economic … (19 comments)

How to use TweetDeck to follow large groups on Twitter - 03/12/09 10:58 AM
I have enjoyed the writing of Jesse Newhart about technology.  Jesse lives in my part of Florida but he happens to have over 20,000 followers on Twitter.  He has done a You-Tube video describing how he uses Tweetdeck to efficiently prioritize and follow his followers on Twitter – and I learned a lot.
I found a video by Jesse on Darren Rowse’s blog Twitip.com – which I also recommend to our Twitter users on Active Rain.
Video is 8 min 30 seconds

Hope Lingers in the Gulf - 03/03/09 10:46 AM
The eyes of the local news have been focused on the Gulf of Mexico since four boaters did not return from a Gulf fishing trip on Saturday. Interest was increased when recognizable names of four college or professional athletes were released by concerned authorities.
Marquis Cooper and Corey Smith – both former Tampa Buccaneer players – with Will Bleakley and Nick Schyler – both former USF (University of South Florida in Tampa) football players – were apparently anchored approximately 38 miles off shore Saturday when their boat capsized in bad weather.
Hopes were raised Monday when Nick Schyler was found and … (2 comments)

Born Again American - 03/02/09 08:53 AM
Interesting web site, great music and a message of diversity and unity.  I am embedding the video, but I recommend you click to bornagainamerican.org and watch it on their site.
The video is a remix of a number of performers and groups performing the song at various iconic locations around America.  It is a powerful message (6min 18sec).  If you sign the pledge at their site, it is a thrill to see your name as a signer of the Declaration of Independence.
enjoy.
