In the post and a comment, he said, "When the service becomes available that allows the owner to represent themselves in an efficient manner - THEY WILL . . . when the service I envision becomes available the owners will have access to the information they need to represent themselves efficiently and the paperwork will executed online with unusual/exceptional provisions being reviewed by Real Estate Attorneys for a fee -- but these fees will end up being substantially less than the current commissions paid to Realtors."

I have a Facebook friend who markets a line of merchandise from a website.
Recently, I saw a comment to one of her posts that rubbed me the wrong way. The commentor called her 'unethical' because the product she was selling had a sizable markup. He said he knew what she paid per unit, and it wasn't 'that much'. And he actually asked her to provide the product FOR FREE or at her cost!
Now why on earth should a buyer expect a seller to take a LOSS? The product she bought in mass quantity, customizing each piece, using resources, time … (6 comments)

It's fascinating to me how some consumers will negotiate themselves right out of a good deal.
If you are interested in a property, and working with a buyer's broker (as you should be) . . . the single most counterproductive thing you can do is call the listing agent yourself and make an offer through them first--then return with 'your agent' to make a second, usually weaker offer.
Consumers often think it's wise to 'feel out' the seller first--then they'll get a better deal using their own agent.
(The second part is true--but the first part negates the second.)

Although I LOVE 'Zep-Tember', it's not my favorite time of year till the Autumn Equinox hits (17:18 EDT on 9-22-2009.)
Soon, temps will drop below three digits and central air will be replaced by the cool moist evaporative cooler air.
We spent some of the weekend waxing and polishing the spa to enjoy (gotta wax it to 'help' our mineral-rich water find its way to the filter, not linger on the walls)...looks new but it has had a lot of use.
Gonna pick up some green tea aromatherapy to dose up the bubbles. The best! :)

I am lucky and blessed beyond measure -- I live on the BEAUTIFUL Colorado River where summer is all about watersports and soaking sun with toes in sand.
The most fun thing to do, I think, is float on a huge raft, with radio and cellphones in plastic bags. :)
With my Blackberry which can retrieve faxes, browse MLS and all, it's easy peasy to continue to do business while we enjoy life on the River with our friends. I take pride in that we can ALWAYS be found and are always willing to help.
It's a simple but very gratifying lifestyle here.
