Pearland Citizens Asked to Voluntarily Conserve Water
The City of Pearland is reporting that for three consecutive days (as of May 31), Pearland's total daily water demands have exceeded 70% of the system's available operating capacity. Therefore, in accordance with the City's Water Conservation Plan, and due to on-going droughtconditions, the City implemented the Plan's "Stage One Drought Response."
Residents are asked to voluntarily practice water conservation by minimizing or discontinuing non-essential water use. Ideally, outdoor watering should occur between the hours of 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. or 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday. Also, odd-numbered addresses … (1 comments)

The Pearland Historical Society is an important part of our community! Its mission is to preserve and perpetuate the rich history and heritage of the great City of Pearland!
The formation of the Society is fairly recent. According to the Pearland Historical Society's website, the formation of the society began on April 10, 1986 when Mayor Tom Reid wrote a letter to C. Bob was in trouble. He forgot his anniversary & his wife was angry. She said, "Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in 6 seconds & IT BETTER BE THERE!" When she woke up, she looked out the window & sure enough there was a box in the middle of the driveway. She ran outside to open it & inside she found a brand new bathroom scale. Residential Sprinkler System Stops Apartment Fire in Pearland - 08/02/11 09:18 AM
The City of Pearland Fire Department responded to a kitchen fire in a three story apartment building located in the 2200 Block of Business Center Drive on Sunday afternoon. Upon arrival, they found that the fire had been extinguished by the residential fire sprinkler system installed in the building.
This fire was determined to have been caused by a cooking accident and the investigation is currently considered closed by investigators.
