Its that time of year again and Pearland's Winterfest is coming up!  If you have never been to Winterfest, then you don't know what you're missing! Each year, the Pearland Parks & Recreation puts on a day filled with rides, food, games and lets not forget the most important part: over 250,000 lbs of REAL SNOW sponsored by HEB Plus!
This year, there will also be a Green Mountain Energy Recycle Snowman Contest, an Ice Carving Demonstrations, Live Entertainment, a Sports Zone, a Dancing Horse Demonstration, Inflatables Rock Climbing, a Carnival AND MORE!

Keep Pearland Beautiful will be sponsoring its 17th Annual Tour de Lites Family Bicycle Ride on Saturday, December 11. The one and a half hour evening recreational ride begins at 7 p.m. at the pavilion in Independence Park and goes through the Green Tee Subdivision to view the Christmas lights.

Logan Griffiths, son of Jim and Teri Griffiths, and brother to Jamie and Megan, was in a serious motorcycle accident on Friday, Nov. 5th, 2010 in Pearland. The doctors at Children’s Memorial Hermann used their skillful hands and saved Logan’s life early Saturday morning. Logan has undergone several surgeries including major repair to his liver. The Drug Enforcement Agency heads FIRST-EVER NATIONWIDE PRESCRIPTION DRUG TAKE-BACK DAY!
Brazoria County Precinct #3 Constable Buck Stevens in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and many other governmental, community, public health and law enforcement partners has announced a nationwide prescription drug "Take-Back" initiative that seeks to prevent increased pill abuse and theft.
The Constable Office will be collecting potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs for destruction on Saturday, September 25th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time. The service is free and anonymous, no will be questions asked.

Parks and Recreation is thrilled to announce the offering of an exciting After-School Program designed to enrich middle school student's activity after regular school hours.
The program begins August 23, 2010 and follows the Pearland ISD calendar and operates from school dismissal to 6:30pm. Transportation is provided for students from Alexander, Sam Jamison, Leon Sablatura and Rogers Middle Schools to Bailey Campus at 4917 Bailey Rd. in Pearland.
