florida: Don't "Move" to Cape Coral, FL - 09/23/15 05:44 AM

As a real estate agent in Cape Coral, I probably shouldn't tell anyone not to move here. It's a beautiful city, with over 400 miles of canals (more than Venice, Italy!), local festivals and parks, sporting and recreation around every corner, and amazing diversity in housing options. But this isn't enough to "move" to Cape Coral.
Why Not?
Because if you're going to buy a home in Cape Coral, FL, you'll want to become a Florida resident! And living in Florida changes your life! Leisure is the name of the game; golf, swimming, fishing, unique local restaurants, and boating are no longer amenities-- … (1 comments)

florida: Cape Coral Community - 03/29/07 04:57 AM
Growth continues in Cape Coral, Florida. It is estimated that we have 163,127 residents at the present time. Our median age is currently about 44 years old & the median income is estimated at $51,344.
Cape Coral is an excellent community to move into & start a new business. The city of Cape Coral works with residents to assist them with business planning. In fact, the city of Cape Coral has a Small Business Development Center located at the City Centrum Business Park.
Many new commercial developments are underway. On the northeast corner of Pine Island Road & Nicholas Parkway is the … (1 comments)

florida: Beware! Natural Disasters are Amongst Us - 03/01/07 08:07 AM
Being in SW Florida, I hear concerns from people about Hurricanes from time to time. We usually end up discussing historical data, newest hurricane codes & then I typically go into 'natural disasters elsewhere'.
Honestly, I cannot think of a single place to live that there won't be something weatherwise to concern yourself with. Basically it comes down to picking the ones that least annoy you, or maybe are least likely to kill you.
Here are some I can think of:
Hurricanes
Tornadoes
Mudslides
Blizzards
Fires
Floods
Heat
Wind
Earthquakes
I found an article put on USA Today that goes into more detail about these things.
They also have a cool interactive map … (15 comments)

florida: Wow I've been busy - 11/23/06 02:42 AM
I haven't been blogging on here as often as I should be. Why? Because I've simply been too busy. I had 4 closings last week & 4 next week (one is my own house).
Another one of my listings went pending, none other than today - Thanksgiving!
I have blogged before about the power of intention, positive thinking, energy, etc but this one is pretty good. I spoke with my seller last week about his house in Bonita Springs. He was ready to reduce again but I said "I am going to have it under contract for your Thanksgiving present".
We … (8 comments)

florida: Why would you move to Cape Coral? - 11/05/06 01:34 AM
Are you considering a move to Southwest Florida? Maybe even just Florida in general? Maybe even just somewhere warmer in general?
Perhaps for a second home, perhaps you are moving to live here full time?
Here are some things to consider:
Let's start with some possible negatives:
The world moves slower here. What do I mean by that? Well if you are from the country in the midwest you may not notice it, but if you are from a larger city or the NE you will notice it for sure. Everything is done slower here. Deadlines are often overlooked by many. Stop by the … (5 comments)

florida: Beautiful Newer home in Bonita Springs, Florida - 09/27/06 02:35 AM
If you have been looking to purchase a home in Bonita Springs, Florida at a price that makes sense, now is the time. The seller of this lovely lakefront POOL home on a 1/2 acre corner lot has been relocated for his job & is ready to sell! Originally priced at only $474,900 (about 30K less than the last sold comp) the seller asked me to reduce it again for a QUICK SALE.
Now it's down to $449,700! Don't let this opportunity pass you by. Located just off of Bonita Beach Road, convenient to area shopping, I-75, Miromar Outlets & Naples!

florida: Free Steak Dinner - 09/25/06 02:36 PM
You too can fly to Florida for a free steak dinner & be whisked away to look at swamp land...err I mean vacant property. For $50 down & $50 a month you too can own your own piece of the sunshine state.
Yes, that's REALLY how it all got started here. It's amazing isn't it? You can check the tax rolls in Cape Coral & see that the original buyers were from all over the country and the world. They mostly purchased one or two parcels each. Most are classified as 'disqualifed mail order sales'.
Now, our town has over 150,000 residents … (2 comments)

florida: What a difference 10 minutes makes - 09/23/06 12:14 PM
So today I'm driving around in Cape Coral (where I live) checking on some of my vacant land listings when I decide to head over to Pine Island.
Pine Island is a quaint island community. The areas are Matlacha, Pineland, St. James City & Bokeelia. I decide to head through Matlacha & make a left down towards St James City.
How nice. The sun was up but obviously close to setting as I drive.

These photos are not the greatest because I took them while driving - yeah very safe I know...

So to the left is the very end of St. James City....

florida: A Great House Behind a BUSY Road - 09/16/06 07:36 AM
I have had this house listed for a few months now - in SE Cape Coral - with its central water & sewer hooked up & paid for as well (this is a big PLUS in Cape Coral).
When we first listed we were a little high but that's just when the market had began to slow down so we didn't know if it would keep heading down or come back up.
It has at least 2-3 showings a week & the only feedback I receive is that its too close to a main road - Del Prado Blvd. Well, we can't … (2 comments)
