top ten states for real estate search: Top States Searched in August - 09/02/09 09:54 AM
The top ten states searched for real estate in August were New York, California, Florida, Texas, Massachusetts, Illinois, Alabama, Iowa, Arkansas, and Indiana. CA and FL both have had re-surging markets lately. New York and Texas markets are the "last" to see a slow down. Massachusetts has a new movie studio and movie industry developing. Illinois has the Obama factor. Alabama has the go zone and the jobs going into the coast and Mobile. Iowa is as far from the global warming floods as you can get. Arkansas has Walmart. Indiana had to get action sooner than later.

The top states searched for real estate on REindex.com, The Site Engine in May, were NY, IL, CA, PA, IA, MO, TX, MA, FL, OH. Each of these states has been in the news lately for various real estate reasons.
New York real estate has seen a slow down, and even has had a few large real estate companies close. Illinois is coming back from its downturn. CA real estate has finally found bottom and is starting to move property again. Pennsylvania has an active economic development plan. Their web site, www.NewPA.com, has interesting information and growth data. They are working … (0 comments)

top ten states for real estate search: Where Were People Searching In March? - 04/04/09 07:34 AM
There were some new states that appeared in the Top Ten States Searched in the month of March. While the large states gathered the most numbers because of their large land area and population sizes, there were many small to medium states that had lots of search activity. When the size of state is taken into account, some of the smaller states had a lot of activity.
We use this information for a few things. One is to see if there is an area of the country that is developing faster than others. Another is to see if the activity from … (3 comments)

top ten states for real estate search: Florida Real Estate Searches Lead - 03/03/09 12:45 PM
In the month of February, Florida was the most often searched state for real estate on REindex.com.  It hasn't been unusual for Florida property seekers to push the state into the top ten in the past because of the shear number of towns in the state.  In the month of February, the size of the state was not as important as the number of searches.
Florida was 14th in the total number of real estate searches on the REindex.com pages, but when the number of searches is adjusted by the number of cities searched, Florida was number one.  The time of … (0 comments)

top ten states for real estate search: Where did they look for real estate last month? - 12/02/08 12:20 PM
Here is the monthly report for where surfers were looking for real estate on REindex.com, The Site Engine® in November.  There are two reports about where people are looking for real estate that are interesting.  I was glad to see Alabama on one of the reports having gone there myself to search for deals.
The first of the reports is the top ten states for search activity ranked strictly by the number of pages viewed on REindex.  This particular report is interesting because it indicates where people are searching.  It is a report that is ahead of transactions, ahead of permit … (2 comments)
