OK - by Cape standards, summer officially began, Saturday, June 19, because it was the first day of the 2010 Scallop Season. The governor decided to move the date up by nearly two weeks to encourage visitors to come down early. Our beaches are still beautiful and open for business, and several visitors this were so impressed with our waterfront properties they bought some for themselves. Sales remained strong with three closings, and two new contracts, while three new listings entered the competition and eight sellers opted for new price tags. WOW! You might think it was the 4th of July instead of Memorial Day with all the figurative fireworks going on around here. I think we set a sales activity record this week: we had five closings and four new contracts. That's a lot of real estate changing hands. In other activity we added ten new listings to the menu, and marked down eleven other properties. Our inventory swelled by four, coming in at 410, with 160 houses and 250 lots listed in the MLS for the Cape San Blas, Indian Pass and C-30 Corridor market. We … (0 comments)

What a difference a week makes. This week was as hectic as the last was quiet and we have a lot of territory to cover, with four closings and five new contracts. Now that's some serious activity! Our inventory is once again moving in the right direction, downward, coming in at 394 (152 houses and 242 lots), down four from last week, for sale in the Cape San Blas, Indian Pass and C-30 Corridor market. In other activity, we have five new listings, ten new price tags, and fourteen expired unsold.

It's been another busy week around the Cape with lots of people in to look at property. I did manage to sneak away for a few hours, though, and get in some much needed kayaking and fishing on Thursday. Good to be reminded of why we live here. Apparently a few folks decided they want to be here as well, as we had two sales and two new contracts this week. What a windy, weather filled week we've had around here this past week. The wind is still howling this morning and we're in for lots more rain today, on top of the 3 1/2 inches we had on Thursday and Friday. Too bad as Tyndall Air Force Base had to postpone the Blue Angels Air Show scheduled for today which I was really looking forward to. Looking at the radar I don't think anyone's going to be flying in this area today so they'll probably end up cancelling. Thoughts of shopping fill the air as we draw another week closer to Christmas and Hannukah, and we had a few shoppers decide to pick up a little piece of paradise for some lucky person on their list. Virtually no change in our inventory, standing steady at 378, down one from last week, with 156 homes and 222 lots in the Cape San Blas, Indian Pass and C-30 Corridor market. Once again, no closings this week, but we do have five new listings, an even dozen price changes, two new contracts, and five expired unsold.
