scallop cove: Cape San Blas Real Estate Week in Review - July 17-23, 2010 - 07/24/10 01:57 PM
If no news is good news, then we've had a very good week as there is still no oil and now no Bonnie. We've also had another good week in real estate, with two sales, four new contracts, five new listings, and eight price changes. No change in our inventory, though, hanging steady at 415, with 164 houses and 251 lots listed for sale in the MLS in the Cape San Blas, Indian Pass, and C-30 Corridor market. Both of our sales were on the Cape, starting with a short sale on this 4-bedroom, 4 1/2 bath, 3,789 square feet home in Seagrass built

I hope everybody had a wonderful Christmas or Hannukah with family and friends. Santa was very good to us and brought us two closings, four new contracts, eight new listings and eight new price tags; all in all, quite a haul. Our inventory remains relatively unchanged, up by only one, with a total of 378 properties (134 houses and 244 homes) listed for sale in the MLS in the Cape San Blas, Indian Pass and C-30 Corridor market. The first of our two sales is this bank-owned interior 40' by 90' lot up at Barrier Dunes which was listed for $124,900 and auctioned off

scallop cove: Cape San Blas Real Estate Week In Review - Nov. 14-20, 2009 - 11/21/09 07:47 PM
This was the last week before the official launch of the 2009 Holiday Season but it's been so busy around here apparently a lot of people have already started doing their Christmas shopping, and coastal real estate looks as if it is high on Santa's gift list. We had three sales and five new contracts, four new listings, a dozen holiday mark-downs, and three expired unsold. Happily, our inventory went down another four to a total of 393 active MLS listings in the Cape San Blas, Indian Pass and C-30 Corridor market, with 140 homes and 253 lots. The first of our three sales was this 2,000

Georgia went back to school and the Cape's a quieter place this week. No closings, but there were enough people around to write up six new contracts, so all in all, another good week. Our inventory crept back up by 12 to a total of 399 active MLS listings in the Cape San Blas, Indian Pass and C-30 market, with 145 houses and 254 lots. In other activity we have sixteen new listings and twenty-one sellers did a reality check and lowered their prices. Buyers were shopping for foreclosures and short sales this week as we have three of each

scallop cove: Cape San Blas Real Estate Week In Review - July 18-24, 2008 - 07/25/09 09:17 AM
It's been another busy week around the Cape with lots of people in to look at property. I did manage to sneak away for a few hours, though, and get in some much needed kayaking and fishing on Thursday. Good to be reminded of why we live here. Apparently a few folks decided they want to be here as well, as we had two sales and two new contracts this week. Our inventory nudged down by two ending the week with a total of 405 active MLS listings in the Cape San Blas, Indian Pass and C-30 market, with 157 homes

scallop cove: Cape San Blas Real Estate Week in Review - Mar. 14 - 20, 2009 - 03/22/09 07:56 AM
Lots of activity around the Cape this week as spring arrives and with it kids on break from school. Average activity in real estate, with bargain hunters continuing to roam the area sniffing for killer deals. We ended up this week with one sale, one new contract, ten new listings, twelve new price tags, and 13 expired unsold. Magically, with all these numbers, our inventory remains unchanged from last week at an even 390 active MLS listings in the Cape San Blas, Indian Pass and C-30 Corridor market, with 150 homes and 340 lots. Our solo sale of the week is

The calendar may have said Christmas but the weather said summer. What a beautiful warm, sunny week it has been. I hope you had a good holiday with family and friends. Santa brought us one closing and two contracts, three new listings , three new price tags and eleven expired unsold. Our inventory took a nice healthy dip, too, down 11 fromt last week to 367 active listings in the Cape San Blas, Indian Pass, and C-30 Corridor market, with 150 homes (vs. 154) and 217 lots (vs. 224). Our sale was the 2-bedroom, 2-bath, gulf view Barrier Dunes townhouse we looked at last week

scallop cove: Cape San Blas Real Estate Market Week In Review - Sep. 13-20, 2008 - 10/03/08 08:17 AM
Hard to believe but it was a year ago this week that I posted the first week in review and what a year it has been. In that time the MLS has recorded 56 sales in the Cape San Blas, Indian Pass and C-30 Corridor market, with 38 homes and 18 lots. Our overall inventory has come down by 26%, from 542 (194 homes and 350 lots) last September 29, to 398 this week (169 homes and 229 lots). This week is the lowest our inventory of homes has been since June 2005. All of these are indicators of a market

scallop cove: Cape San Blas Real Estate Market Week In Review - August 23-29, 2008 - 08/30/08 02:38 PM
It's Labor Day Weekend, the last hurrah of the busy tourist season here and by the looks of the parking lot at Scallop Cove this morning there are a lot of folks hoping to catch a few more rays and a few more fish and scallops before heading back to school for the year. Snagging a piece of real estate doesn't seem to have been on many minds, though, as our inventory is only down by one this week, stalled out at 449, with 178 homes and 271 lots listed in the MLS for Cape San Blas, Indian Pass and the C-30
