There are openings for children ages 3 and 4 in the KinderRHAMa preschool program, held at RHAM High School, 85 Wall St, Hebron. This program is sponsored by AHM Youth Services and RHAM High School, and is for children ages 3-4 from the towns of Andover, Hebron and Marlborough. The program is held for 10 months, September through June, and follows the school calender of holidays, The 2 day a week program is $95/month and the 3 day a week program is $143/month. parents are responsible for transportation. Colchester Clam Bake

The Colchester Fish & Game Club will hold its annual Clam Bake, Sat Aug 23 starting about noon at the club. There will be clam chowder, steamers, hamburgers and hot dogs all day. There will also be plenty of games including volleyball, horseshoes and activities for the kids. This picnic is open to the public-all are welcome. On Sunday Aug 17 from 3:30-6:30 pm the Ahavath Achim Synagogue on Lebanon Ave in Colchester, will hold a Chicken BBQ. This complete chicken dinner includes half a kosher chicken, a baked potato, cole slaw, a roll and dessert for $10. The BBQ chicken is prepared with the same "secret" marinade that has been used for the past 40 years. The public is welcome to either eat in the synagogue hall, pick up their dinners at the drive through (in the rear of the building) or have their dinner delivered. The Douglas Library is again participating in the "East of the River Reads!" program for 2008. This year's book is Billy Boyle by James R. Benn. The library has multiple copies of the book so you can join hundreds of readers in the region and share your opinions at the one book event to be held at most of the regional libraries. The East Hampton Belltown Garden Club has planned a summer trip to Massachusetts for sat Aug 23. The trip will be to Yankee candle and Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory in South Deerfield, MA as well as "The Bridge of Flowers" in Shellburne Falls. A Nichols Bus will leave from the back parking lot of East Hampton Public Library, 105 Main St, East Hampton, CT, at 8:30am sharp. Plan to arrive 15 prior. Arriving back at approximately 5pm. This trip i also open to friends and family of the garden club. Although the bus ride is free to everyone, non members would be responsible for the $12 fee at the Butterfly Conservatory-entry into Yankee Candle. The Bridge of Flowers is free. On Sun Aug 24, the Marlborough Business Association will host a community wide event, Marlborough Day. The day will feature live entertainment, food, vendors, local businesses and much more. Activities begin at 11am at Blish Park and the event will be held rain or shine with activities taking place under the pavilion. Any civic, church or youth group is invited to particpate as a volunteer to fill the need of community service hours. Marlborough Pumpkin Festival Trip

Parks and Recreation will take a bus trip to the Pumpkin Festival Saturday, Oct 25 in Keene, NH. While in Keen, you will get to see over 16,000 hand carved and decorated creations and take in Main Street activities, all while listening to music played in the band shell. There will be lunch at Woodbound Inn in Rindge, NH. Lastly, at dusk, there will be a trip to see Grand Illumination. The bus will depart from Marlborough Town Hall at 9am and return at 9:30pm. The donation of the following items are urgently needed: tuna, jelly, peanut butter, cereal, canned meats, canned fruit, spaghetti sauce, snack foods, all cleaning products, toilet paper and all personal care products.
