Even though some form of the home buyer tax credit has been around for awhile now, I'm still getting lots of questions from people about it.  Here is a summary of the tax credit and some answers to frequently asked questions. 
The Worker, Homeownership, and Business Assistance Act of 2009 has extended the tax credit for first time home buyers (up to $8,000) AND also now offers up to $6,500 for repeat buyers.  Here are the highlights for both parts of the tax credit:

I'll start off by saying that my choice of career obviously shows that I'm a believer of people investing in real estate, but that being said, I also believe that purchasing a home is one of the biggest financial decisions you will make in your life and you shouldn't purchase a home unless you are ready.
