blogging: Bloggers are The New Woodward and Bernstein: Realty Blogging Book Ch. 9 #7 - 12/16/06 07:44 PM
If Watergate happened today, Woodward and Bernstein would have a blog; and 'Deep Throat' would have contacted them through blogging instead of in an underground parking lot. That is the conclusion I reached after reading Chapter 9 of Realty Blogging. Why? Blogs have become a primary source of information for people, including reporters. Guestimate? 90 million or more blogs exist. That is a lot of information. When you read newspapers on line, more than likely you see that they have their own blogs. When the NY Times was looking at subject matter for their entry into the blogosphere,'The Walk Through' was

blogging: Does John McCain Want To Shut Down The Blogosphere? - 12/15/06 02:34 AM
Senator John McCain (R-Arizona) has created quite a stir with both negative words about the blogosphere and more importantly, with legislation that could affect it. I'm sure the political blogs, which have been around longer than most blogs, have irritated politicians from the get-go. The Drudge Report and Slate have been thorns in the sides of Presidents for several years now. The first thing McCain did to irritate bloggers was a speech he gave at Jerry Falwell's Liberty University. He basically said (and I paraphrase here) that bloggers are egocentric windbags who do not listen to nor take the opinion of

blogging: Google Testing Entrance Into Radio Advertising - 12/10/06 12:32 PM
Apparently Google is testing the waters on an 'On Air' advertising program. They are selling ads and a story in The Washington Post piqued my interest because I see a lot of Realtors® whom I respect here on AR using radio ads. Google seems to be conducting the 'ad sales' like an eBay auction. They provide the vendors, you go in and bid on air time and present ads you would like to air. If you have not had a radio ad and need one built for you, they provide vendors for that too. Supposedly the ads are inexpensive. One of

blogging: I Think Therefore I Blog: Realty Blogging Says Be a Groundbreaker...Blog Now!....Review #1 - 11/30/06 08:57 PM
It has been so gratifying to begin reading Realty Blogging along with other Rainers, with the intention of brainstorming our way through the book as we go along! I am only on Chapter Three, but it has been mind expanding (in a good way!) while also bringing up questions and looking for feedback. So I am excitedly posting with the hope that we can have a blast with our on line book club. First, credit where credit is due: if any of our blog posts in this group inspire you to read the book, it was written by Richard Nacht and

blogging: "Call It the Office of Management and 'Blog-It'" - 10/04/06 03:04 PM
Who woulda thunk it, or maybe it was inevitable! The Washington Post is my homepage and today there is a story uncovering the Government's Office of Management and Budget (OMB) using bloggers to try to get some 'pork' out of government (good luck on that one!) The beauty of the process is explained at: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/10/03/AR2006100301313.html This is pretty heady stuff! Imagine our government keeping us busy into the night, checking for waste and pork in contract proposals? That is the kind of thing OMB is envisioning, with all proposals of $25k or more being on line in one location, for us to

blogging: Watching Active Rain With Love And Interest - 09/30/06 01:19 AM
I can't believe how attached I am to this place and I have been here what, a week? I've been trying to get better at layout on here, went to writely.com mentioned by Colleen K in her blog today. I had fun writing a blog for AR there, and somehow I think it disappeared into the etherworld. No worries, I can continue to work at it. Why am I watching Active Rain? Besides learning everything I can, I am excited at the cutting edge feel this place has. I love our niche in the world; And I have a feeling in the
