cleveland news: Ohio Needs Jobs? How About 16,700 of Them? An 'Ohio Hub' Update - 07/13/07 04:27 AM
NE Ohio needs jobs, this is our collective mantra. My personal mantra is the Ohio Hub/3C Corridor Plan. But then I guess I don't really have to tell you that do I? The Economic Impact Study has been completed. It was conducted (pun intended?) by the Ohio Rail Development Commission (ORDC). The reports just keep getting rosier  guys!
The Ohio Hub becomes a very important link in the chain to the National Rail Network which serves 140 Million People in the Midwest, Northeast and Canada. This is from a news article coming from Frederick Maryland and NOT Ohio.  The rate of return on a $1 … (22 comments)

cleveland news: Baretta Said It Best: You Can Take This To The Bank - Rail Initiatives Will Bring Jobs and Money to Our Communities - 03/09/07 04:16 PM
What's New news from the All Aboard Ohio Annual Rail/Transit Summit held earlier this week. I received word from our contact Ed - thank you Ed! It's potentially good stuff for Ohio's economy. And the economy of any other State that benefits from it, which to me at least includes Pennsylvania, Illinois, Michigan and New York.
First, the Summit itself: Ohio is still lagging behind other states in per capita funding for transit programs. This can provide impetus to State Legislators to increase their efforts because we need to catch up and get with the real world here; it can also help … (52 comments)

cleveland news: Tax Incentives: When Does Their Use Fall Into the Laws of Diminishing Returns - 02/03/07 05:21 PM
From what I have read, most of the 50 States offer some form of tax incentive to build. Some do it to encourage farmers to get into the 'clean energy' business with solar power. Cleveland got into the tax abatement issue in 1991 when The City authorized a Tax Abatement Program. That authority is coming up for discussion because in June of 2007 that autority runs out....City Council has been holding hearings to see … (11 comments)

cleveland news: Cleveland: The Milan of the Midwest - 01/27/07 04:15 PM
Sound odd to you? Well, not odd to a group of people who formed a partnership to work on the Euclid Avenue Idea Design District for Downtown Cleveland. Businesses, Insitutes of Higher Learning, Design Award Winners and Cleveland's Government all sit as idea people for this .....idea about ......an idea center. Don't be confused, it's actually pretty cool. And it's bascially about Branding and Positioning, which we all know is near and dear to my heart.
Cleveland is already home to 40 of the top 100 brands like Moen or SAECO (which was started in Milan and I have a feeling … (23 comments)

cleveland news: Don't Believe The Hype: Buy a Home Now - 10/10/06 11:14 AM
That is what I want to shout from the rafters with a bull horn. I'm sure we all do. As a Realtor, it is my job to be able to separate out the myth from the truth. I want a marketing piece that speaks to this issue. To do that, I'm looking at three things:    1. Mortgage Rates Today vs. Mortgage Rates a Year Ago    2. Home Sale Prices Today vs. Home Sale Prices a Year Ago.   3. How Many Buyers Are There and Who Are They?
I focused on 3BR 1Bath Homes in Lakewood (an inner ring suburb of Cleveland) and … (8 comments)
