wells maine: My Love/Hate Relationship With Septic Tanks and Leach Fields - 12/10/09 01:51 PM
Call me nuts, but...I LOVE septic tanks and leach fields (aka, "disposal fields").  I love how much money I save by not having access to public sewerage, for one!  When I first moved here to Maine, I was petrified of septic systems (too many stories from an old boss about the cesspool in his front yard, YUK), but I quickly learned that if I care for it properly and have it pumped regularly, it isn't such a scary monster after all that is buried in my yard.  And who doesn't like to save money with minimal effort and care?!  The septic system is … (5 comments)
