STAGING A KIDS' BATHROOM Home staging is about presenting/marketing a property to the widest customer base. That is accomplished by accenting the square footage, amenities, character and possibilities a home has to offer while still remaining neutral enough to interest most "lookers". You try very hard to not make too many taste specific decisions for the potential buyer, but then there is reality. We recently staged a property with numerous bathrooms, which gave us an opportunity to stage a kids' bathroom as a fun, colorful, hip place to go potty! We took the existing shower curtain and used that as our inspiration: BEFORE

The benefits of belonging to a true trade organization are countless. In southwest and south central Michigan, home staging is realitvely new on the scene. There are stagers popping up here and there, some are trained some are not, some are insured, some are not, some are ethical and some are not. THERE IS NO ROI ON STAGING YOUR PROPERTY FOR SALE! Really? I know, I am still dizzy from shock but I heard it and was stunned. I can understand why people or even agents may think that their property or their listing doesn't need staging. I get that. The connotation may be that there is something wrong with the property and not everyone can swallow that pill. There is always the case for not staging a property because: it will sell at some price or let the new buyers make all the changes-I get those opinions. I even get being so blinded (2 comments)

We were at dinner with friends last week end and of course they asked how the business was coming. "Good" I said. The husband really wanted to argue about how home staging was just a way to get home owners to spend more money that they couldn't recoup in a down market. So I asked, "if you had to sell your property right now, how much would you spend to decrease your time on market by 78% (HomeGain)? He was stunned. In my neck of the woods this marketing concept of "home staging" is very new. There are all sorts of reasons (2 comments)

STAGING A CRAMPED SPACE! We have all had the problem of a small space with lots of furniture or large furniture or both. In a perfect world we would remove some of the furniture or bring in smaller pieces. Ah but the world is an imperfect place and we are a solution based group of stagers. Here is a problem I had some time ago. This master bedroom was small, had large furniture and the pathway to the right of the bed led to the master bath. The bed and window coverings were large as well. If we moved the bed to the (6 comments)
