Coffee + Realtor + Wi-Fi = Satellite Office - 07/30/07 02:53 PM
While I was sitting at the local coffee shop this morning it occurred to me that I have a satellite office - and I don't pay any rent!  Woooohoooo!
You see, it's like this....Between 9:00 and 10:00 AM I wander in to the Java Mill and fix my morning fuel - JamaicanMeCrazy with a double dose of half and half.  Then I pick a table in the back and open up the laptop.  There's a bit of conversation going on, a sort of buzz in the air, and the sounds are almost like a tranquilizer.  Soothing, allowing me to focus and concentrate.

The U.S Brig Niagara - A BEAUTIFUL VESSEL - 07/28/07 12:21 AM
Today I had the pleasure - and the honor - of watching The Niagara navigate the channel of the Maumee River.  She was making her way into town to share her history, her majesty and her magic.
The Niagara is a replica of an  1812 warship.  She was the relief flagship for Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry when American forces won the Battle of Lake Erie on Sept. 10, 1813, during the War of 1812. The replica was built in 1988. Based out of Erie, Pa., up to 40 crew members sail on the ship.
As The Niagara cleared the second draw bridge the … (10 comments)

Community: Dancing kids, Crazy hats and all out fun - 07/28/07 12:04 AM
Wow!  Thanks to Cheryl over at her blog about not letting people steal your photos/images I was able to use one of her great tips and create a slide show that is about community.  Pure community.
Let me explain...
In our city we have all types of neighborhoods (as does most cities) and some of them are more prosperous than others.  The North Toledo neighborhood known as the Vistula District is the oldest part of Toledo and holds much of the city's history.  Unfortunately with urban sprawl, the desire of urbanites to become sub-urbanites, and the changing face of financial freedom many people … (2 comments)

This well cared for 3 bedroom home is located in North Toledo on the fringes of the Polish Village.  An area rife with diversity, history and convenience.  Near St. Vincent's Hospital, historic churches, schools, the downtown entertainment district and a short trip to the beautiful Maumee River.

This home is 1380 sq ft and boasts a new roof in 2006, newer windows, a 2 car garage, fully fenced yard and a main floor bathroom.  The owners will leave all appliances including the washer and dryer.  This home is well maintained and is move in ready.  Would make a great first … (0 comments)

Toledo Heritage, History and a Little Piece of Heaven - 07/17/07 09:22 PM
Have you ever heard of such things as an oasis?  a hidden paradise?  a private Eden?  Come on....I know you have.
Well, let me take you on a little tour of just such a place.  And it's located in Toledo, Ohio's very first neighborhood.  This little haven is located in the Vistula Historical District, is a short walk to the riverside and our new marina district, and provides a front porch view of the lights of the new Glass City Veterans Skyway Bridge.  Not to mention that this home is 5 blocks from Government Center and all things Downtown.  And for the … (6 comments)

Blood, sweat and ........................perseverance! - 07/15/07 12:26 AM
Well, hubby and I are in week 2 of a major rehab.  We closed on July 5th on a really cute 2 bedroom house just 3 doors from beautiful Lake Erie.  Our intention is to give it a total facelift, rent it out for 2 years and see how the market is doing.  If things are still sluggish we will continue to use it as a rental until the market stabilizes.
This is the front of the house:
It's really cute and has lots of windows!  It's on a double lot and has a two car garage.
The work portion of it … (15 comments)

What did he say????? - 07/05/07 09:56 PM
Well, today is my silly day.  I'm tired, I'm frustrated and I need a diversion.  So as I walked along the river this afternoon I had a conversation with a couple of Canada Geese.  I'm going to leave it to you all to come up with a caption.  I know what I think he's saying.....

What comes to your mind????  Share a caption!

Water water everywhere.... - 07/05/07 12:29 AM
Well, today being Independence Day spurred me to get out of the area and do a little scouting.  We took a ride about 45 miles east of Toledo to a small town called Marblehead, OH.  It's in the Catawba Island area and is rife with interesting little tidbits.
In this little part of the world there is a great amount of history surrounding the Battle of 1812 and the Black Swamp.  Apparently there were some pretty serious battles here.
While we were enjoying the view of sailing yachts and freighters sharing the waters it dawned on me just how difficult the area … (14 comments)
