Most of us will remember Karen Carpenter singing about Rainy Days and Mondays, and with today's weather ... that song has been playing over and over in my head.It's a gray, cool and rainy day here in the Piedmont. The windows are open, the light breeze curling the sheers ... the smell of fresh rain filling the house. Mix it all with the sounds of the birds and the crickets ... it's the closest you can get to heaven on earth.

There is a constant urging in this modern world to become all things to all people. And we strive to place ourselves above all the rest. After all … that’s what it’s about, isn’t it? Isn’t that what will measure our success?
We are led to believe that with all the modern day conveniences such as iPhones, computers, PDAs, Kindles and the like, that we have to make ourselves available to the world at a moment’s notice. The world will certainly fall apart if we don’t jump the minute we are called!

When I first came to the Burlington/Alamance County North Carolina area I met a gentleman at the local Keller Williams office. He was kind of shy and seemed a bit reserved. I immediately realized that he was new to the office ... there was just something about that 'wait and see' smile when he shook hands with the other agents.

If anyone knows what this thing is, please let me know. It seems as though we have a very wide assortment of critters out here in the country, and I'm not familiar with many of them. This guy actually made a buzzing/clicking sound when I tried to get close to him. I don't know if it was in approval or disdain! LOL

In doing some research on the Burlington, NC and Alamance County areas, I remembered to use the resources in my own arsenal of information sites. I like to consider them my gold mine.
If you have ever wondered just how much information is available on any one area, then you need to check out Melissa Data. There are pay portions to this site, which I'm sure are worth every penny ... but I am extremely fond of the free tools and lookups that they provide.

I got one of those emails this morning .... you know .... the ones where there is a cutesy poem about being friends, how cool we all are, etc. And that was nice.
I really like the person that sent it - although she sends way too many of them at times. But I digress ...

I was doing some aimless web surfing and came across this 'lesson' in how we all should be treating each other. I wanted to share with all of you since there seems to be a recent rash of misinterpretations and disinterpretations of some posts recently.
