veterans: Let Us Never Forget ... - 05/25/08 08:43 AM
In our busy lives we tend to be focused on our success, our chores, our appointments and our "things" that just have to get done lest the world come to an end. This video is a tremendous reminder that while we are focused, we should also stay focused on the men and women who have served in our armed forces in order to afford us the safety to carry on our day to day lives.

veterans: On Praying for Peace, Honoring Sacrifice and Winter Sunsets - 12/20/07 07:38 AM
A couple of days ago my husband and I went out to dinner at the Cracker Barrel restaurant in Monroe, MI.  It's the closest one to our house and a straight shot up I-75, so off we went!  As usual, the food was tasty, hot and plentiful.  And, as usual, we ate too much - so time to walk a little of it off.
And what better place to do that than the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial at Heck Park in Monroe.
Personally, I find it very difficult to go to these memorials.  I lost several dear friends in that confrontation and it still … (6 comments)
