I received a google alert for the term Destin Pelican Beach Resort this morning. It was an article originally written in the Florida Sportsman Magazine just a few days ago.
The reason the alert popped up is because the fishermen in the article stayed at the Pelican Beach Resort. They were quoted as saying they stayed on the 7th floor and had a view of the ocean and morning sun. They had to have stayed in a 2 bedroom on the angled side which has a somewhat side view of the beach.

Up until I bought my Pelican Beach condo in Destin back in October, I had no idea what snowbirds were!  Every year, retired singles and couples leave the harsh winter in Canada or northern U.S. and go to Florida and more specifically to Destin's Pelican Beach Resort.
Snow birds are big business to Destin and to other Florida cities as they come and rent condos and visit the restaurants and shops. The Pelican Beach Resort even has scheduled activities for the snow birds.

destin: Winter Rates at the Pelican Beach Resort in Destin,Florida - 11/20/09 12:38 PM

I have had calls from potential renters about the current rates to stay at the Destin Pelican Beach Resort.
From Nov 1,2009 - Feb 28, 2010 the rental special is buy 3 nights get the 4th night free or buy 5 nights and get the 5th and 6th night free.
Here is a couple of scenarios for those rates to rent unit 1004.
 
4 night stay $345.00 ($115 per night for 3 get one free) $50 service fee $43.35 tax ------------ $438.35 total 7 night stay $575 ($115 per night for 5 get two free) $50 service fee $68.75 … (0 comments)

Over the last several years, my family and I have vacationed on the emerald coast of Florida. We have always stayed at the Pelican Beach Resort in Destin. This is a beautiful resort in the heart of Destin and located only about a mile from the Destin airport where we fly in, tie down the plane and get a rental car.It is located directly on the beach with an unobstructed view of the gulf.
