dyersburg: Investors Helped Turn The Dyersburg Real Estate Market! - 04/06/12 12:13 PM
Over the last few months, investors and foreclosures have ruled the day with the Dyersburg real estate market. I would say that over 75% of home sales over the last few months have been foreclosures.
The average sale time 6 months ago was about 6 months but now when the "priced right" foreclosure hits the market it almost never gets to the investor time period which means owner occupants are coming into the game and buying before the investor can actually bid.
Even properties needing lots of work are being purchased by owner occupants. I see this as a great sign … (2 comments)

Dyersburg's Nordyne manufacturing facility has just been recognized by the Tennessee OSHA Commissioner's award of excellence. Nordyne has accumulated 800,000 hours worked without a restricted or lost time injury.
Nordyne has also not had any willful safety or health violations. Several other guidelines were also met to earn this award. Nordyne manufactures central heat and air units for homes and manufactured homes. They relocated here to Dyersburg from St. Louis in 2003.

I just ran the statistics(single family only) for the Dyersburg real estate market for the 1st half of 2011.
Actually I have a comparision for 2011 vs 2010, 2009 and 2008.

I am ready to declare our local Dyersburg recession is finally over and the economy is recovering. Over the last several weeks many plants and factories in and close to Dyersburg have been hiring. Everyday there are ads in the paper for employment.
Over the last few weeks I have also been mentioning all the job opening in the area on my Dyersburg real estate blog.
We still are suffering from quite a few foreclosures but I see these tappering off as more and more people have jobs are are able to pay their mortgages.

Today I attended a lunch meeting at the Dyersburg/Dyer County Chamber of Commerce. This meeting is hosted by the chamber monthly and industry leaders from Dyersburg are invited to participate.
After going through the line to fix our plates we sat down and Allen Hester introduced himself and one of his staff, Ellen Carrington. Ellen then played a new video on the screen that the chamber just had produced highlighting the new spec building owned by Dyersburg and Dyer County. Over the last few days, I have been getting inquiries through the Activerain server about Dyersburg real estate and about jobs available in the Dyersburg Tennessee area.

Alan Hestor, the President of the Dyersburg/Dyer County Chamber of Commerce(for almost 8 years) came to my office to see me this morning.
One of the reasons Mr. Hestor came to see me is to tell me he has been getting Google alerts for the term Dyersburg.
