Machu Picchu- Peruvian Cuisine in downtown Lynchburg - 04/21/07 07:15 AM
Another Dining option in Lynchburg- Machu Picchu Peruvian Restaurant
Noting the lack of diversity in the dining choices in Lynchburg, recent resident Elsa Duran decided to do something about it. After moving to Lynchburg from Northern Virginia two years ago, Duran opened Machu Picchu in March on Fifth Street. Machu Picchu features authentic Peruvian cuisine including Causa de Mariscos, Choritos a la Chalaca and rotisserie chicken. Duran, of Lima, Peru imports ingredients including chilies from her homeland. If you're looking for a restaurant serving authentic ethnic food, check out Machu Picchu.

Forest scheduled to get three new traffic lights - 04/15/07 10:12 PM
When I moved to Virginia twenty years ago, I used to joke that four cars at a stop sign was traffic. Not any more. With all of the subdivisions in Forest located off of Rte's 221 and 811, the need for stop lights has been there for quite some time. This fall, three new traffic lights are scheduled for installation by VDOT. The location of the new lights are:
- Rte 221 between the future RE/MAX and Bank of the James
- The intersection of Perrowville and Hooper Road (just before Jefferson Forest High School)
- The intersection of Thomas Jefferson Road and Everett Road
