With all of the traffic that daily passes over Thomas Jefferson Road in Forest, welcome changes to ease the congestion are on the way. Construction crews have been working on Thomas Jefferson Road for several months now and The Virginia Department of Transportation has announced plans to improve several sections of the road. The projected cost of the improvements is $1.8 million and the contract will include widening the road north of Bateman Bridge Road to the south of Everett Road. The improvements will include 12-foot lanes, a center turn lane and 18-foot shoulders.
