Though Florida and Califorina markets have been hard hit, Texas, Utah and Washington have seen increases and several Virginia markets fared well. Lynchburg, Virginia is ranked at 34. Regional Population Growth is Good News For Lynchburg, Virginia - 02/28/08 01:32 PM
What a great report to see on the front page of Wednesday's News and Advance. The regions population growth is increasing: since 2000, Lynchburg's population has grown by almost 7%. The Wyndhurst community has had a substantial impact on the growth in the city of Lynchburg. In a related article, the City Council and Planning Commission are working to reach a comprehensive plan to deal with denser growth in the city. Nine percent of the city's vacant land has been developed since 2000. With the new Cornerstone development under construction on Greenview Drive, the population is sure to continue to rise.

Travel to Brighton, England: Royal Pavilion & Pier - 02/27/08 09:52 PM
I love to travel. I saw the movie Quadrophenia way back in 1979 and put Brighton on my list of places I wanted to visit. I got my chance in 2006 and wasn't disappointed though there's so much history here and not enough time to take it all in. 
 
Though we only had a few hours we were able to take the tour of the Royal Pavilion. The detail, opulence and size of this building is incredible. This being Black History month, I wanted to write about one of the the people that had an impact in my daughter's life, Mr. Chauncey Spencer. My oldest daughter is adopted, bi-racial and at 13 was going through a tough time at school. My dad could sense that she could use some building up and set up an appointment to meet with his friend Chauncey. We were privileged to meet him in 2000, two years before his death.

One of the things I love about Lynchburg is that it is a college town. Liberty University holds several student recruitment events throughout the year called College For A Weekend. Both of my girls have attended them during their Junior and Senior high years. It's a great way to have the dorm experience, meet current students, ask questions and attend classes. Some of the highlights of the weekend include tickest to either a football or basketball game and a concert.

Two years ago we received a night time call from a distraught tenant who kept saying he was sorry. He was at work, his kids were home and the house caught fire. Fortunately, everyone got out safely and the fire was out by the time we got to the property.

Bedford, Virginia is a small Central Virginia town, its downtown streets home to quaint antique stores and shops. It's only a short drive down Route 460 from Lynchburg to Bedford. If you look to your right just past the Bedford Wal-Mart you will get your first glimpse of the Overlord Arch. This is the home of the  National D-Day Memorial an 88 acre site dedicated to the sacrifice of  the 4,500 Allied Forces killed on D-Day. The Memorial was dedicated on June 6, 2001 by President Bush. Great for Parties and Picnics - PEPPERONI BREAD ROLLS - 02/02/08 05:56 PM
I use to make Pepperoni Bread with frozen loaves of bread dough but now use individual rolls. I take this to parties, our office luncheons and even mail in care packages to my daughter at college. My neighbors son eats them cold.
To make Pepperoni Bread Rolls, you'll need:
1  24 count Parkerhouse style frozen rolls
1  8 oz package sliced pepperoni
1  package of sliced provolone cheese
1  package shredded mozzarella cheese
I  container of Kraft Three Cheese Blend- Parmesan, Romano & Asiago
