Lil Cucci's Pizzeria in the Forest Square Shopping Center, Forest, VA - 01/29/09 08:35 AM
Lucky Me- Mom had a gift certificate to Lil Cucci's and she took me there for lunch. I love this Italian Restaurant in Forest, Virginia. Lil’ Cucci’s is owned by Maurizio and Shari Cucci and has a great family atmosphere. Not only are you greeted by Maurizio when you enter the restaurant, he calls you by name.
Located in the Forest Square Shopping Center, Lil Cucci's does a brisk business so you may have to wait for a seat but it's worth it. The food is awesome- we had the Lil Cucci's Special Calzone which was stuffed with pepperoni, peppers, (15 comments)
A History Of Hope: In 2007, local resident Roy Emeigh had a conversation with his son who said, "Dad, if I were a businessman like you, I would start a Christian skateboarding company and call it Hope." The family discussed the skateboarding culture—the good, the bad, and the extremely ugly. They agreed that a positive message of hope and salvation could make a difference to many skateboarding and snowboarding enthusiasts. Hope became a trademarked and incorporated reality in late 2008. Today, they offer the highest quality skate decks, supplies, and apparel. Hope is committed to providing excellent graphics, finest quality (4 comments)
Diamond in the Rough or JunK? Depends On Your Perspective - 01/27/09 12:49 PM
Time to break out the Tom Brady Pez Dispenser- after two years the MAN CAVE is finished and we were down to pricing custom TV cabinets - YIKES, more than the cost of the TV - so on to Plan B. I went to one of my favorite local sources, Goodwill and found the perfect SEVEN FOOT LONG cabinet for $35.00. I was thrilled, however I could see by the skeptical look on my husbands face that he didn't share my vision. I saw a quality piece of furniture in need of some TLC and he envisioned a trip to the (16 comments)
The county seat of Campbell County, Virginia- located in Rustburg, is named after Jeremiah Rust who donated 50 acres of his land to create the village in 1784. Less than 10 miles outside of the city of Lynchburg, Rustburg is still a small town, with a population under 9,000. There is a lot of new construction going on and many of the government buildings have recently been built.
Whether you need a permit, have a court appearance or your children need immunizations, this is where you will come if you're a Campbell County resident. I researched a deed back (8 comments)
Small business is the backbone of our economy and small business is hurting. In 2009, I've committed to doing all I can to promote the businesses that make Central Virginia what it is. I've written a lot of posts on local businesses; nothing special, just a profile or an endorsement of their product or service. What is exciting to me: These businesses are being contacted by the public & have new clients-because of my Activerain blog.

I love football and though our hopes for the year were dashed early with Tom Brady's injury, the Patriots had a great year, ending with an 11-5 season. After a rough start, Matt Cassel proved himself to be a pretty good quarterback too. Watching the games every week and fantasy football with friends and family we enjoyed this season and the playoffs. And my husband didn't bring the toilet bowl award home this year. Now it's down to one game.
The Arizona Cardinals didn't have much of a chance in a Foxboro Snow Game, but they looked great (8 comments)
MOM, IS THERE SCHOOL TODAY? Lynchburg, Virginia School Closings & Delays - 01/19/09 08:51 AM
It's winter in Central Virginia and the burning question the kids will be asking; Is there school today? The counties surrounding Lynchburg, Virgina are large and while we don't normally have a lot of snow, black ice on the roads can be a hazard. Though the streets in your neighborhood may be clear, there may be dangerous conditions elsewhere. The entire community can get involved in cleaning up the lake and shore to keep it safe for boating and water sports this upcoming season. Oh The Weather Outside IS Frightful - 01/16/09 11:44 PM
One thing I love about living in the Lynchburg, Virginia area is when snow's a'comin' it's an event. We don't have snow that often and watching the flakes fall has always been magical to me. There's a run on bread and milk at Kroger, the mall and schools close down and we stay inside in anticipation of the flurries to come. One of my neighbor's plows our driveways- of the TWO OR THREE INCHES of snow we might receive. It usually warms up the next day and all traces of the white stuff are gone too soon. If You Like Hummus, You'll Love This Mediterranean Plate - 01/15/09 07:55 PM
Maybe it's because it's cold outside but I've been making this dish a lot recently. This is the Mediterranean Plate you'd find at one of the beachfront restaurants in Sayulita, Mexico. (If you've seen the movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua, you've had a brief glimpse of Sayulita). Except for the Tahini, this is a healthy (and vegetarian) lunch.
The plate consists of: Hummus Feta Cheese Olives Roasted Red Peppers Toasted Pita Bread Carrot Sticks Cucumber Wedges Roast sliced Red Peppers on a cookie sheet drizzled with olive oil and oregano. Slice and separate Pita Bread, toast in the oven with (24 comments)
