Oh, for a bit of rain!
The temperature in Lynchburg reached 83 degrees today. Tomorrow, it's expected to rise to 90. I can't recall the last time we had rain in Forest. I CAN wait to see my next water bill. Bedford County has banned all outdoor burning until further notice due to drought conditions.
According to the Bedford County website, dry weather has caused an "extreme fire hazard." http://www.co.bedford.va.us/index.asp
Bedford County is the second locality this week, after Amherst County, to put a ban on burning. 30 % of the forest fires in Virginia are started by open burning according to the Department of … (19 comments)
