virginia tech: Why your kids should go to Virginia Tech - 02/12/09 11:05 PM
As a parent of two college students, making the decision on which school your child will attend is extremely important. There are a lot of considerations and decisions to be made. Virginia residents are very fortunate to such excellent state schools. As a senior who's set to graduate in May, my daughter Kat has a student's perspective on the school. Check out her blog on Why Your Kids Should Go To Virginia Tech. Via Kat Malone (Virginia Tech RPM Student): Your kid is a junior in high school. This summer you'll be college shopping if you haven't already

virginia tech: CNN Special Report, Campus Rage Airing This Weekend - Virginia Tech - 04/12/08 08:55 PM
CNN is broadcasting a Special Investigative Report on Campus Rage tonight and over the weekend. My daughter Kate and several of her friends were interviewed by CNN and ABC this week. This report doesn't focus just on the tragedy at Virginia Tech, but on other campus shootings as well. Hopefully it will shed some light on the warning signs of rage among mentally disturbed individuals and offer solutions to better protect our children on college campuses. I took these images on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at Virginia Tech. The permanent memorial is located between the flags. A Day of Remembrance

virginia tech: The New York Yankees at Virginia Tech: The Hokie Nation Thanks You - 03/18/08 06:11 PM
The New York Yankees showed a lot of class, sensitivity and humility as they visited the Virginia Tech campus this week. The team made a $1,000,000 donation to the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund last year. April 16, 2007 Virgina Tech Memorial Today, The Yankees played an exhibition game against the Virginia Tech baseball team at English Field. Several players hung out in the Tech dugout, they signed balls and shirts for students and stayed an hour after the game to sign memorabilia. I can't tell you how much this is appreciated by the students, faculty and families. It's been a tough year for the Virginia Tech
