alton nh: New Subdivsion Proposal in Alton, NH - 12/01/07 09:13 AM
On November 20th, the Alton Planning Board got their first look at a design for a new 43 lot subdivision. The subdivision would be located on Route 28A with access points off Austin Road and Swan Lake Trail.  The plan calls for a 5000 foot road that will service the 43 single family residences and cover 100 acres.
Karen O'Rourke, of Brown Engineering represented Bayview Forest and Development at the meeting.  She stated that the site was primarily chosen because of the views.

alton nh: Alton School Board approved a Preliminary Operating Budget of $13 Million - 10/27/07 06:15 PM

 
At an October 22nd meeting, the Alton NH school board approved a preliminary operating budget of $13 million dollars.  Where will the money go?  
 
 
The increase will benefit the school in the areas of technology and Buildings and Grounds to acquire an additional part time custodian.  The Alton Budget Committee will review these numbers in November and then put them before the public on the school district Warrant next year.

alton nh: Why I Love and Live in Alton, NH - 10/23/07 03:29 PM
I grew up coming to Alton Bay, NH on Lake Winnipesaukee.  My parents always had a cottage on the Alton Bay Christian Conference Center (ABCCC).  My mother, siblings and I would live in our cottage throughout the summer, and on the weekends during the spring and fall.  My dad would go home during the week to work and would return to play on the weekends.  Throughout the winters, I would dream about "the Bay", my friends, and the excitement for the approaching summer would hit me!
