realtor: It's not all about service.... - 02/14/08 06:14 AM

After reading Colleen Fischesser's post Real Estate Begging...It's Not My Bag, I was reminded of an audio CD that I have been listening to recently by Alan Dalton.
Dalton suggests that most REALTORS in today's market are trying to sell their services when in fact, service alone, is the wrong emphasis.
As Colleen so nicely put it, "..the value I bring to my clients lies in the sum total of my experience."
So where does our true value as real estate professionals lie?  It lies in our SKILL.  Our skills include performances such as:

negotiating, problem solving, objective advise, due diligence, access to additional resources, guidance, … (28 comments)

realtor: Free Advertising that keeps on Giving and Giving During the Holidays and beyond! - 12/12/07 07:08 AM

In Nathan Cook's featured article "Newspapers-A Dying Breed: The Pony Express in Real Estate?" he stated that,
"We have all seen the 2007 stats from NAR that 84% of home buyers use the Internet in their search process. Is it time for our Real Estate industry to unsaddle our marketing dollars from the old Newspaper and mount the new power horse?   If so, "Goodbye, Mr. Newspaper" and "Welcome, Mr. Internet!"
While I whole heartedly agree with Nathan and place 90% of my marketing efforts into my online presence, I still find it useful to keep my name in the public eye via print … (4 comments)
