When I became a mother I was always told to pick my battles and it is a piece of advice that I have kept with me and passed on faithfully. Now I find that I have trouble picking my battles. My daughter is about to be 8 years old and it seems as though she has caught on to this logic and she "tests" my battle picking abilities. Are all children this way? Do they reach an age where they outsmart us? I see how quick witted she is and it floors me to the point that I have to actually think, ok, what just happened? By that time she has already moved on to the next moment, leaving me scratching my head and feeling as dumb as dirt! LOL.. As you can imagine (that is if you have not had this same experience) this makes picking my battles a lot harder, not to mention making me cave a lot easier due to the fact that I am trying to pick my battles.. The whole process is very exausting and makes me want to just go lay down and take a nap!!
