My IT guy is pure genies when it comes to computers...wish I knew a 1/1000 of what he does. Since my computer knowledge on a scale of 1-10, I'm about a 2. Needles to say Richard also has a lot of patience, he would have to in order to help me while I'm leaning over his shoulder asking questions, while hes trying to fix my last screw up. Unfortunately Team Tex-La was eliminated from Active Rains contest, Makeover2Takeover at the end of week six. Rich Jacobson came up with the brilliant idea and challenges which I truly enjoyed being a part of with my apprentice Josh Lazaro. Being the mentor part of our team, I also learned a lot, and had fun too. The contest started with 16 teams, and after our elimination it was down to only 6 teams and now it is down to the last three teams remaining. The winner should be announced any day now. When I first moved to Katy Texas in the late 70's there was not much outside what is called "Katy Proper", that is the area that lays within the city limits, the other part of Katy is actually large sections of Harris and Fort Bend unincorporated counties. Katy Texas, was originally know for it's rice fields and rice farms, and seemed so far away...how times have changed! The oil energy corridor located on I-10 just a few miles from Katy started the growth. The Katy Independent School District has become one of the top rated school districts in the US, which quickly added more growth to the area. Park Ten, which stared developing 25 years ago now is home to many major corporations, shopping, and more. What used to be rice fields are now subdivisions.
