entertainment: No more Monday blues for me! - 09/12/10 05:45 PM
Many people dread Mondays. Back to work, lots to catch up on, and a whole work week until the weekend.
But with the return of NFL football, I with many other sports-loving Americans are now looking forward to Mondays.
Here is tomorrow night's schedule:
Baltimore vs the New York Jets -- 7:00 pm (ET)
San Diego Chargers vs Kansas City -- 10:15 (ET)
I will be rooting for my Chargers. Football fan or not I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday and a very productive work week!

entertainment: Carusos Oscar Picks!! - 03/04/10 04:28 AM

Its Oscar season again! The 82nd Academy Awards are right around the corner! There have been a lot of good movies over the past year. It's going to be a tough decision. There are a lot of movies up for best picture. The nominees are Avatar, Up, The Blind Side, District 9, An Education, The Hurt Locker, Inglourious Bastards, Precious, A Serious Man, and Up in the Air. This year I am betting on District 9. As much as I loved all the other movies there is something different about District 9 that really stands out for me. The concept and … (5 comments)

entertainment: Who Gives Some People the Right to Judge Others? - 09/22/09 06:19 AM

E - TV they call it for short...or Entertainment Television. Different areas, different channels to find it on, but it's out there.
The host Guiliana Rancic is pretty critical of others but perhaps she should take a good look at herself.  Her eyes are uneven, hair too flattened, not the least bit pretty in fact quite hurtful on the viewers eyes.  No class, and to make a point - ignorant. If they held an ugly contest to see who would host the show we can all understand why she'd be the host...Giuliana you look like an alien from another planet.

entertainment: Swashbuckling Supper and Show - 09/18/09 06:23 AM
Thanks to a few bloggers I have discovered that tomorrow, Sep 19, is national Talk Like a Pirate Day.
What better way to celebrate than to take the family to the Pirate's Dinner Adventure in Buena Park, CA and Orlando, FL.

“This dinner show buts you and your family right in the middle of all the swashbuckling action.” At Pirate’s Dinner Adventure guests enjoy a dining experience including an amazing action-paced display of special effects, wizardry, aerial arts, swordplay, and duels, all in an entertaining and humorous show about good vs. evil. Each seating area belongs to a “ship” with … (2 comments)

entertainment: Big Action for Little League! - 08/23/09 04:48 PM

If you happened to have any leisure time this Sunday, perhaps you were able to catch a little bit of the Little League World Series today, like I did.
Typically, I enjoy watching the series for a little background noise while working or mulling around the house, but today, I was able to actually sit down and watch a little bit of two games.
The California team had another tremendous victory today, beating Massachusetts 14-0.
Japan, as usual, gave a wonderful performance, scoring runs while taking advantage of sloppy plays by the Curacao team. In the last two innings, however, … (1 comments)

entertainment: Has Superbowl Become a National Holiday? - 02/04/09 03:59 PM

Hey...don't get me wrong, I love football although I love college football more that the Pros because to me it's about heart and pride than it is about money (though they are going big to get a pro contract).
But that is not the point...it's the Superbowl I'm referring to.  The grandest holiday of them all.  And a holiday that you don't have to buy presents for or spend a lot of money to enjoy.  Just a TV and a few cold ones, some snacks and POW...great entertainment.
When I was younger in this business (several decades ago) I defied … (1 comments)

entertainment: AIG...OK to "Party Hearty"? - 10/12/08 09:39 AM
AIG said in a recent press release that it is 'OK to party hearty'.  They said they have to entertain in their customary manner to take care of clients that provide them with the business they enjoy in their AIG-AG and IFLC divisions.
Within days after accepting an $85 billion federal loan AIG hosted 820 people at The Smithsonian National Air and Space Museaum to celebrate their 35th anniversary.  Costs?  Who cares!
It gets better...
During that same period of time (the same weekend, in fact) AIG's subsidiaries spent a whopping $443,344 at the St. Regis Hotel in Monarch Beach "entertaining".  … (0 comments)

entertainment: Angels Sitting on their Sofas…Expensive Ones! - 10/12/08 06:45 AM

October and Baseball Play-offs go hand in hand.
Not for the Angels baseball team.  They are once again sitting home on their sofas...expensive ones too.  The team payroll has grown and the talent pool has grown, but they freeze up like Little League players and look around in dismal disbelief as they continue to get pushed aside in their quest for baseball play off recognition.
All this makes it seem that 2002 (seems so long ago) was just a "Cinderella Story" rather than building block for a strong franchise.  But they are really good at building a high payroll and … (0 comments)

entertainment: Is it Monday Yet? Battle Cry of Football Fans…Wearing Thin? - 09/21/08 08:02 AM
For many years Monday Night Football has brought people all over this country together.  From pubs in Boston, to bistros in Miami, to bars in Chicago, San Francisco and LA.
Monday Night Football was and is something everyone looks forward to at the end of that famous 1st working day of the week.
But over the years, we have developed Thursday Night Football and Sunday Night Football games as additional entertainment.  Great for us football fans but doesn't have that same feel as Monday Nights...you know, that feeling of 'what do we do now?' that comes around in January when there … (2 comments)
