Plastics likely make up a size able portion of the marine debris that exists today. Exactly … (3 comments)

enviornmental protection: 7 Ways to Waste Less with Caruso - 10/20/10 06:53 AM

7 Ways to Waste Less
• Buy refillable containers Spray bottles, for example, can be refilled from larger jugs or concentrate. Over time, you'll buy - and dispose of - fewer containers.
• Choose concentrated or "ultra" cleaning products, which use 50 to 60 percent less packaging than traditional formulas while cleaning just as thoroughly.
• Don't use more product than the directions indicate. Pouring in extra laundry detergent or fabric softener won't get your clothes any cleaner or cuddlier. Instead, follow the markings as directed on the label.
• Stop brown-bagging it (literally) and wasting paper when you pack … (4 comments)

enviornmental protection: Did You Know with Caruso.... - 08/07/10 06:34 AM

Did You Know...
Air pollution can be up to 10 times worse inside your home than outside.
Fumes from paint, cleaning products, and solvents can all add to indoor pollution,
even when you can't smell them.

enviornmental protection: Save the whales! - 05/23/10 09:08 AM

Mark your calendar -- Sunday, June 6, 2010 @ 9:00 am   If you are in Orange County consider coming to the gathering at Baby Beach in Dana Point Harbor, to honor the Baby Whale Lily and to thank those who attempted to help her. Lily the whale was entangled in fishing nets, ropes and other ocean debris which injured her and kept her from migrating north with her Gray Whale family. She was undernourished and weak .  This gathering will bring awareness to 'Gray Whale Migration" and remind people to keep our beaches clean, and "Clean the Ocean" of nets and other trash … (5 comments)

enviornmental protection: Green Project in My Own “Backyard!” - 02/28/09 06:38 AM

Last Tuesday, a ribbon cutting ceremony took place in the city of Laguna Niguel, which symbolized the completion of a ten year study/project which helped stabilize the Aliso Creek Stream bank.
The United States Army Corps of Engineers teamed up with the Orange County Wastewater Authority to enhance the infrastructure surrounding South Orange County Water Authority's Coastal Treatment Plant.
Based on studies conducted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the native habitat and water quality will now be protected within the watershed.
Environmental progress in my own "backyard!" This is great news!!
