As spring settles in...thoughts turn to body surfing and boogie boarding at the beach. But hold on for just a moment... Did you know that nearly 10% of all beach injuries reported by our lifeguards rank as serious? And serious includes spinal injury from diving into waves and hitting the sand. The sand is unforgiving. And as currents change from a northwest swell in winter months to southwest swell in summer months, the sandy bottom of beaches change along with it.
